So enough with all the 420 threads latley, but here's one more
ive been a daily toker for about 3 years now... and a heavy heavy toker for the past year, talking 4-15 joints a day. now this was in no way effecting my grades, lifestyle, anything shit was fine with that. actually did better in school since i started blazing but ive developed a narsty cough and the doc said if i just quit for a week or two ill be able to lose the cough and start happily blazing again.
all research done says theres no withdrawl from pot, but i didnt wake and bake today and still havent blazed and my stomach feels like shit, i cant figure this out/what to do about it.
anyone else notice anything when they started quitting?
anything that can make this easier?

there will def be a little bit of withdraw if you were tokin that much.... because your changing your bodies state in such a quick time from something that it has been used to... but it should only be 3 days max... i have experianced it first hand and my saw my brother go through it a day... its usually something like that, physical and not mental

I too had some gnarly smokers cough about a month ago, to the point of waking up coughing and not being able to go back to sleep... I hadn't smoked until like 5 days ago... and yesterday of course haha. My cough pretty much dissappeared and I would start smoking a little more again if I had a job haha.

ive been smoking for about 4 years and heavliy for about a year and a half. i went through the same when my mom found out how much i was smoking and sent me to inpatient, i failed the urine tests there over a couple months. then my moms sent me to a inpatient rehab and was there for two weeks. not fun at all. for me personally those feelings lasted about 4days. its different in everybody and everybody goes through different things. i think the best thing to do is try not to think bout it, eat junk food, gum helps, sunflower seeds. stuff u can chew on. hope dat works.

im gonna plus K all of you great advice
ive decided to try and just do a major cutback at first, try and keep it to one spliff and one bowl a day. then go to nothing after a day or two of that.
weird thing is ive quit many things, tobacco, harder drugs, codeine but none of those were an issue to quit cuz i really believed i needed to. think thats why this ones a bitch to even quit for a bit.
this one is just to get rid of a stupid cough, i found being high all the time to not be a problem at all.
what i really need is a paycheque so i can get a sick vap.
any one have any vap experience other than volcano's? im not a fan of the bag system really

just because you or the people you associate with don't smoke that quantity doesn't mean other people don't. there have been times where I would consistently smoke 8 blunts a day, .8 each blunt, you do the math.

to the OP, I feel you. the most common symptoms from stopping for me were a slight loss of appetite, trouble going to sleep, a little more irritable for the first couple of days, and just being anxious.

None of these were major and went away pretty quickly.

Goodluck stopping

i have smoked weed for the past 7 years... and blazed real hard for the last 5 or so.... smoked 4 to 12 bowls a day like you....one day 2 months a ago i wanted to see if i could stop, so i did, havent even taken a hit since... hardest thing i have ever done...i got sick for a couple of week right after i quit, i dont know if it had anything to do with smoking weed, but i kinda think it did.... .. anyway, weeds cool i am still a pot head at heart but i would have to say i like being sober better........

thats bull shit, i go to a school in the summer that drug test, so i have to quit every summer and i never feel any with draws. ever. i also have had to quit for diversion because of getting caught smoking.

You must really be stacking bills smoking that much, unless you have your own grow-op or something. My suggestion for the cough is maybe to invest in a vaporizer. That way you can give your lungs a little break. Although cheebuh itself isn't harmful the act of smoking a substance frequently isn't good for your health. Th stomach pains may just be unrelated. Although, I wonder if smoking was masking your stomach pains and with your withdrawal from the herb the pains have finally surfaced to your attention.

i've been smoking for 2 yrs on and off but this last winter prolly much more often... a couple times a day everyday... i quit for 5 days smoked again and now im done for good since 3 days ago until summers over because of my school... all i've noticed is that im in a more stressful kind of pissed mood for the past few days... i wish i could just take a good ol bong rip and chill out :(

good luck with the quitting, what sucks the most is all my stoney friends smoking around me doesnt help

ask any of the guys here who smoke a lot if they pay retail... after smoking for 3 years i better not be paying $10 a gram, i usually buy at $2-3 a gram, i buy wholesale. and yea it does cost a chunk of coin, but to each his own. im sure you spend money on things i deem a waste of money. also once you have a real job it becomes overly insignificant. I make about 600-900 a week, when your making minimum wage and buying dime bags though, your right it is fucking pricey
15 joints a day is entirely possible... and ive smoked more and im sure many people on this site have.
deff gotta get a vaporizer though, any reccomendations? i dislike the volcano/
thanks to all of those with serious posts and experience. im not planning a permanent quit at all, just want this fuckign cough to go away before summer n such. part of the problem too is i live in downtown toronto, the general air quality isnt to high to begin with.
+ k to all who gave useful comments so far

i think taking a two week break will be pretty rewarding, i made myself do it a few times every now and then for various reasons, and it always just makes me appreciate smoking more. your tolerance will be wayyyy lower, so you will get fucking baked the first time you smoke after a while. and that cough should be gone.

i have had those weird stomache feelings too, just give it like a day or two.

i was gonna try and quit from today on for ten days. but i smoked and failed already. gonna try again tomorrow.

Definitly get a vape! I also am not a fan of the volcanoe or bag vapes, and I went with a vapor bros vaporizer. Its the classic wooden box style. Its a little more pricey than some of the other box vapes, but it comes with a lifetime no questions asked warrenty on the unit itself. I havnt had any problems with mine, but I have heard that their customer service dept is great!
I too had a nasty smokers caugh, and a vaporizer is the way to go. You can take monster hits, and barley feel it until you are coughing your ass off! Gets me higher than normal glass pipes do too imo.

I have a Vapor Brothers vaporizer and love the thing to death. It uses less weed so it saves you money and well, it's a vaporizer so you don't get the carcinogens from literally burning it.

but take a break from smoking. it's not that fucking hard. i smoke as much as you do and i took a month break cuz of drug testing for a job and it was no problem at all. of course i'd constantly be thinking "damn, i wish i could just blaze right now" but it's an easy feeling to blow over unlike harder drugs where ther withdrawl is unbearable. man up and just quit for 3 weeks, let you body detoxify itself, eat lots of antioxidant full fruits, and finally use the money you saved from not smoking to buy yourself that vape. You can get the Vapor Brothers Vape for about $150 and it works as well as ones twice the price or more.

for the price silver surfers are the best vapes on the market. I have a supreme vape right now because it portable and i can hid it from my parents but once i go to college im gona ether get a silver surfer or a evolution v7

yeah man i had the same cough. like all flemy and shit. it sucks. i just drank emergencies every morning and stuck to just a j a day and it was gone in a week or two.

usually when i stop smoking weed i cant sleep the next night. thats actually one of the withdrawel symptoms. you can't say there are none. my friend who also quit smoking weed has a stomach problem.

i burned everyday for about a year and stopped for a while and i had trouble eating and sleeping for a few days and i was really pissed but after about a week it went away. itll probably last longer for you, but consider it a tolerance break. once your lungs are back functioning perfectly hit that bong again and get back to toking. i got busted recently and havent blazed for like two months because i get drug tested. im really excited to see how fucked up i get this summer when i smoke again, shits gonna be ridiculous.

i didnt do it as heavily as you (smoked like 3 or 4 times a week) for like a month straight, then stopped for 3 weeks. no withdrawls.
but like i said mine isn't even a sliver to how much you smoke

i cant really speak on your upset stomache, never experienced that one before...but your cough will definitely start fading out real soon if you quit.

im 34 and been a hard, many time daily - dank smoker for almost 20 yrs, (no claim, im actually not proud of it at this point)and within a month after quitting for impending drug test, my raw coughing and hacking was gone.

i wanted to stop for a long time, and i started first of april. i wanted to hold out till 4/20, because that was a convenient date. i ended up stopping for a full 24 hours, then i smoked because i wanted to with a few friends. i could have held off, but it was a special occasion (i got insanely high). i felt more focused towards everything in just a full day. the night after was quite fun. crazy what a full 24 hours does...

Here are my whithdrawl symptoms:

-Insomnia

-loss of appetite

-minor sadness when bored

-shakes...but only minor

good luck with the break

smoke on average like an ounce a week but sometimes when re upping is in the process and out for a day or two, it sucks no sleep, no appetite but would never vape. the feeling of smoke in the lungs is just to great.

I travel fairly regularly and am forced to quit for lack of hook up sometimes for a month or two. Usually I notice absolutely no difference except when I start smoking again it gets me paranoid for a couple weeks until I get used to it again.

i got sick this winter and had to quit for two weeks to get better. the first week sucks, but just keep your head up and know that you get to puff again soon, and its gonna be so damn good.
i'll smoke one in the name of your quitting right now.
