Quick Rail Question

I'm not looking for a ridiculous "how do you..." but when you guys are sliding a rail are you focused on both skis flat on it or back one flat front one on edge? I've gotten decent at rail slidign w/ both flat but have seen a ton of pics in the mags w/ the riders back ski flat and the front one on edge.. is this the better wat to do it in order to control speed, or just a dif trick...

thanks dudes..

wow, that's kinda creepy... that's the exact pic that got me thinking, but the more I look at dif pics and such, I see more of it...

i find if im sliding it i put both flat, but if im spinning out or pretzeling the front ski goes on edge for more grip and traction to spin out

I never think about being flat, I just slide, usually you go flat, unless a spin/pretzel is gonna happen.

my front edge comes up just a bit when i watch it on vid, esp on a kink. i dont conciously try and do it that way, it just kinda happens.

i slather KY all over the bottoms of my skis and then slide on only the leading edges of both skis. it's pretty fucking boss.

thanks guys for your input.. sounds like the consensus is slide it the best you can... which for me I guess is thinking about flat on metal... any + input is sick.. thanks

i think subconsciously you dont wanna catcha front edge so your body makes you put pressure on the inside edge of the front ski, and it just gets pronounced more when hitting kinks or doing more tecnical things like spins etc

yeah just do whatever feels normal... i find myself doing it sometimes, its just a subconscious reaction to the fear of catching your front edge and eating shit

yeah my front edge definitely comes up a bit, but i think with the pics you see it a lot because most published rail pics are urban now, and the rails are often pretty sketch and really easy to catch an edge on

i usually have my back ski flat, or maybe vary slightly on edge and then the front one is usually always on edge.
