Quick question

Hello everyone, I have a couple questions. Im gonna get into touring this year and don't really know what I'm doing. Right now I currently have drop kick pros for boots, and I think I'm gonna send them into cast to get the touring inserts in em. Will this mean they will only work with pivot 15 and 18's or will they still work on my current skis(non touring set up) with pivot 12's? Thanks for ya answers.

sounds like you should just get some day makers and don't send them to cast. Unless you don't have plans to buy cast you probably shouldn't do that. I'd also recommend not using your drop kick pros in a cast system, but to each their own.

Get a dedicated touring setup and be done with it.

You'll really want a touring boot after just a few trips out as it makes a world of difference going up.

Buy the boots new and eat the cost and then buy the rest used if you want to save some$$$

Got it. Thanks. But would a touring boot work with pivot 12s.

Assuming you have the latest Pivot 12 (the Gripwalk-compatible one), you can use your Pivot 12s with any boot that has an Alpine DIN (ISO 5355) or GripWalk (ISO 23223) sole. For touring boots, this means getting a boot with a Gripwalk sole. Adding tech inserts to your boot via Cast does not change which Alpine bindings it is compatible with, it's all based on the sole type.
