Quick question about airlines and luggage...

Hey all, I'm moving tomorrow and my flight is leaving at 5 p.m. I have packed a few bags, not a ridiculous amount though. I'm carrying-on a backpack, and laptop bag... And I plan on sending two separate bags through with the airlines. One bag with all my kite gear, and another bag with all my clothes/random shit. My question though, is would be safe to throw something like an Xbox 360 in with my clothes bag? I know you cant put a lock on suitcase's anymore... and I'm going out of the country so I don't want to FedEx it for some outrageous price... Has anyone had experience with this or know if it's a safe thing to do? Thanks!

I have just put it like in the middle of your clothes bag and rap it in a few clothes or something just to give it extra padding
I had no problems though.

Shouldn be an issue i travel alot and 9/10 times have something like an xbox or laptop in my haul bag
and had it checked through a couple of times... and always have everything it still

I think if someone is gonna look thru your bag and find the xbox your gonna loose the bag anyways, I dont think thats very likely to happen unless you put a sign on it saying "XBOX INSIDE!!!!@#$!@#$!"

haha, yeah. I think what i'll do is literally put it inside a pair of shorts, then wrap the shorts with some jeans or something. Put it in the middle of the bag. Thanks again!

i wouldnt trust the fuckers that will be throwing your bags. put the Xbox in your carry-on.

its not having the Xbox stolen (ide say with 99% confidence that it wont happen) its that your bag will be thrown, dropped, and abused in the worst ways possible.

Yeah, I figured this... It's wrapped literally in the center of my bag though, which consists entirely of clothes and a wetsuit. So I think I'm good with that...Except all the cords are bundled up in the bag too. hope security's not retarded and mistakes an Xbox for a bomb.

your xbox wont be stolen by airport security, but if you are afraid of them mistaking it for a bomb, just ask to be there while they search it the first time.

there is nothing you can really do about it getting thrown around besides pad it well...

at my local airport when you first check the bag you give it to a guy

who may (or may not) open it and check it out. when i used to race r/c

cars and would travel for that, i would ask to be there while the guy

checked out my pit-bag. partly because there are bundles of wires and

battery packs in the bag, and partly so i could make sure the guy didnt

hurt anything while he pawed around. not one single time did ever not

let me be with the guy who checked my shit, and he never mistook for

any of the cord or anything as a bomb.

they'll know it's not a bomb. bombs usually have some weird powder or gel or something inside them, while an xbox is just wires and a few computer chips. airport security sees millions of game systems and computers, and they'll know exactly what it is in the x-ray scanner
