hey guys just wanted abit of advice on choosing some new skis.

im a upper intermediate skier and have been trying out park for just under a year but would like to look at doing some off piste in future, im heading out on a season soon so ill be skiing the new skis everyday

im 5.8" (176cm) and weigh about 150 pounds currentlly ride K2 silencers but would prefer something more playful, i live in the UK so narrowed for lots of choice, ive narrowed it down to two skis that intrest me

- salomon 2012's

- salomon suspects

ive heard mixed reviews on the suspects durability so not sure which one to go with any advice on either of these skis would be great. +K

cheers

P.S i did try searching for reviews on them and couldnt find any threads.

where do you live? but yea suspects have durability problems. maybe line blends or armada t halls but knowing where u live would help us in suggesting skis

i live near manchester in the UK but at the local shop ive narrowed it down to these two.

i think im going to go with the 2012's as the suspect ive heard is best on big jumps which i havent hit that many jumps yet

does anyone know what they perform like in the back country?

and can anyone tell me if the 2012 is more durable than the suspect as ive heard theres problems with the edges being bad.

i think by "where do you live?", the poster above meant "where do you ski?" which is much more important than where you live.

speaking of that... where do you ski? what kind of backcountry are we talking about here?

For any off.trail, soft snow riding the 2012s are gonna be better, rocker + 91 underfoot, they are also gonna be better for, butters/presses becasue of the rocker and a fairly soft tip and tail. The suspects are gonna be better on trail, and for big jumps, because the traditional camber makes them more stable on edge and at speed on hardsnow
