Quick mount question

You can take one pair of rossi bindings and switch them for a different pair of rossi bindings in the same whole pattern, correct?

No. Depends on the hole pattern. Its not great to install bindings in existing holes either, but if you must make sure you put woodglue in the holes first.

im not talking about doing it my self im talking about taking two very similar rossi bindings into the shop and getting a professional job done glue and all to switch the two

dont be an idiot. check the whole pattern put would glue in the holes and then screw them down. i would suggest using a hand held screw driver to avoid stripping.

why waste money taking it to the shop?

or heli coil that shit to make sure it stays in. do look and rossi bindings of the same year have the same mounting pattern?

There is so much stupidity in this thread.

What bindings are you switching out with, and what do you have now.

if your taking them into a shop you won't need to worry, most shops will charge your for a remount. And you don't use wood glue... don't try it don't do it, the 'glue' used in mounting bindings is used as a lubricant for the screw not a glue. helicoil is used if the screw hole is stripped other wise a wood plug is inserted and then remounted.

uhhhh wood clue is commonly used to mount bindings...even the first time you mount you should either use a binding glue or a wood glue....(if no bindig glue is available)

The glue is not a screw lubricant. It is to seal the holes so water doesnt get into the core and rot it. Some glues have a lubricant in it but the primary reason for the glue is to seal out water.

god you are an idiot, i hate it when uninformed people try to give advice.

wood glue is used as a water sealant and too help hold the screws in place. without the wood glue, there is a good chance the vibrations would cause the screws to unscrew themselves

you dont need to heli coil unless you ripped the binding out, if you are just moving bindings from one ski to another chances are the holes are not stripped and you can just screw the screws in the hole using would glue or epoxy.

and to whoever asked about look/rossi bindings.

the axial/px bindings all have same hole pattern, they are interchangeable

the pivot bindings have the same hole pattern, they are interchangeable

the pivot and axial/px bindings have a different hole pattern so they are not interchangeable
