If log a 2 = x and log a 3 = y, then log a 24 in terms of x and y is?

The a's are subscripted but for some reason Chrome wont let me.

here's the answer:
look the teacher dead in the eye and ask when you will EVER need to know this outside of school.

pretty sure that's wrong.

from the op a^2=x

and a^3=y

now you're looking to find what log a 24 =?

well log a (nm) = log a(n) + log a(m)

from that you can break up the log a(24) to log a(8) + log a(3)

log a(x^p)= p log a(x).

so the final answer would be

3x+y...

and if you meant y instead of seven, then yes, you're right.

OMG LIKE YOU ARE SO SMART. IF WE ARE NEVER GOING TO NEED IT OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL WHY BOTHERING LEARNING IT? YOU MUST BE THE FIRST PERSON TO EVER THINK OF THAT ANSWER.

HERE IS THE ANSWER: YOU ARE STUPID.
