Ok so my dad and I built this drop in today, and since it's the first one we've ever built, I was wondering should I put some carpet on it for winter use, since it doesn't seem snow would stay on the wood. It's 6 feet high and 9ish feet long. So carpet or not?

go get some 1x1's and make sno holders, if you dont know what those are. they just go across the ramp to catch snow

Actually I just put some carpet on it, and it looks like it'll slide fast. I'll put pics up later. Thanks though

yeah hes saying just get a couple pieces of wood that u put horizontal across the drop in and that will hold the snow during the winter, it wont slide down because it will get caught on the horizontal pieces of wood. during the summer definatly put carpet over the drop in.

carpet is good because snow sticks to it well, and if its ever warm and the snow is melting, the water makes the carpet slide, so yeah carpets good

get carpet for sure. It truly does stick well to it but you might wanna put thin pieces of wood down the drop-in to keep the snow in place for winter use.

Thats pretty much what I did or last year it worked ok without them but it fell of sometimes which was annoying.

Just wondering what kind of wood did you use for the actaul droping in part/top of the drop in. The plywood or whatever. I'm not sure what to get I'm afraid the woods gonna warp fast and just break

does astro-turf work better then carpet or not? im building a drop in ramp and i have heard astro turf with pam sprayed on it slides well. anyone have a personal experience with both carpet and astro turf?
