Quick Heli Pro Question

First of all anyone that lives near and REI, and is interested in a Dakine Heli Pro, they are selling the pack for 39.93. I checked on the system the other day, and there are still quite a few Heli Pros floating around in random REI's across the country, and you can order them if you are interested. Second of all.... What is the giant strap that begins and ends right by the top hand loop's purpose? It's really long, and you can actually detach the strap from the bag because it has buckles on both sides. What is this for? Thanks!

Chris

There's a loop on the bottom right hand side of the bag. You stick your ski tails in there. The long dangly strap that can come off the pack is adjustable, and actually clips around your skis to hold them down. You then carry your skis diagonally (like so: \) across your back.

The pack is sick. I have one, and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't need a full on backcountry pack, but occasionally needs to carry a shovel and some essentials and does a little hiking. A great inbounds pack, and pretty good if you're a light packer.

I got the skis on the pack and walked around and it was steady without even using that strap. This pack is pretty sweet so far. It was a good purchase... and at 39 bucks, plus a minor employee discount, I figured I couldn't go wrong.

yeah i got the exact same bag too. i love it...use the strap just to secure whatever needs to be strapped down.

matty jeronimo: of course

I like the pack for day trips you hardly feel the weight even fully loaded with all your test gear, skins trekkers, lunch and water. Good buy only problem is snagging the outside straps on trees. I called dekine but they said they couldnt replace the clips I broke.

P.S. JAPAN HAS SICK POWDER

where is it 39 bux i can only find it for 80

Dakine makes high quality prodcuts. Period. I bought a Poacher on Ebay for 60 bucks new, and it is the sweetest pack ever, even though it retails for 120. Their packs are sick, and I have passed on a few to friends/bro, and they hold up incredibly well. Anyone who buys them should be satisfied, they make an incredible product.
