Quick FT/Intuition question...

Got boot fitted the other week and was told I had a really narrow foot and should try some FT's. Decided on the classic because even though I ski mostly park, I like to hit up the big east coasters like Whiteface, Killington, Mt Snow, ect. and wanted the stiffer tongue to get the most out of those days. Anyways, I got fitted for a 26.5, they're snug. If I stretch out my toes I feel just a slight pressure on them. The man said that once I get a few days on them the liners will pack in more and ill have more room. I was just wondering if this was true, if anyone had it happen. Or should I have them heat molded and stick a ton of paper towel in the toe when I do to get some more vital room. Any tips will help, thanks.

just listen to the boot-fitter its his job he gets paid to do it

and if u can afford it get some custom footbeds they help a lot specially with full tilts that dont come with footbeds

I also have a 26.5 FT Boot (although that doesn't really matter)

It took me about 10 days of skiing to fully break the boot in. During the first few days I couldn't ski more than 3-5 runs at a time because the liner hurt so damn much. I even went back to the shop to have it heat molded a 2nd time. Just give it about 7-10 days and then you'll feel much better.

no the boot board is under the liner

the footbed would go inside of the liner on the bottom

and there are a bunch ranging in prices just ask ur shop and they will give u a god one

Heat molding best to be done as a last resort. I encourage my customers to wear them around the house or wherever so they can get used to the fit of the boots. If after a few days of wearing them on the hill and u still feel uncomfortable and pressure on the toes then take them to the shop and they will heat mold them. It is completely normal to have pressure on the toes and is signs of a good fit because the liners will pack out fairly significantly (4 or 5 mm). Just as long as ur toes aren't bent and can still lay flat on the boot. The great thing about intuition liners is that when u heat them up they actually shrink so that once u step into them they expand where there is pressure and really conform to the shape of the feet better then some of the lower end liners. Of course u can get them heat molded now to eliminate that process of wearing them in but its really up to u.

I wore my boots around my apartment occasionally when breaking them in. I would wear them when making a pizza, when watching tv, playing xbox, going to the toilet, etc. I think it helped a little bit.

Sorry for posting so many times. Just went to look at my foot beds. I have the Superfeet size D. That's what was recommended to me when I bought my Hot Doggers last year.

Would inserting a footbed/insole take away from the room I have in the boot though, therefor furtherly contributing to lack of space.

Nope, once the footbed is moulded to shape of ur foot it then ground down so it fits nicely in the boot with feet in there. If u feel its causing less room u can always take them back and they should grind it down further. U really can't go wrong with custom footbeds

No. A foot bed will actually give you more room. when you have no footbed your foot will spread out and your arch under foot collapses. With a proper footbed it will give you support and you'll have more room in your ski boot. This is why getting a footbed of some sort. If your growing it's kinda stupid to get a full custom insert. It's just their expensive. sounds like the bootfitter your seeing has some options so see what he says.

yes but full tilts dont come with a footbed so adding one does take away volume.i have had several people try the full tilts and preferred them without since there is more room.

Your boots, just from the short description, sound like a solid fit.

People want boots to fit like street shoes. That'll fuck you up.

Take boots to shop, buy footbed, bake liners, insert said footbed, mold with 3mm intuition toe cap, problem solved...
