comp question:

i have an intel pent 4 2.00GHz

2.79GHz, 256 MB of Ram

is this sufficient to run CS3 or what editing software? I already have an older version of premiere pro, but i want to upgrade; however, i'm unsure if my comp will be able to handle it. what do u guys think? thanks

haha shit man i thought you meant quick comps on capital IQ

...thought you were in business school or something. I'm not really good with computers but just run CS3 and if the renders are too slow or anything's going outrageously slow you might not have the right computer; but if it works then ur alright. sorry i don't know too much

Do computer noobs on here not realize that getting a MAC solves EVERY computer related problem...gawd.

realistically if you want to run CS3 smoothly you'll need 2gb+ of good RAM, and I'm not sure if you're motherboard is capable of that.... but either way, you will definitely notice a boost in performance with some more RAM

yea like everybody said, 256 mb ram is pretty low for editing video. It will be doable, but it will suck and likley crash often. The good thing is, that ram is pretty cheap online. i got 4 gb (2 sticks of 2 gig ram) for 65 dollars on newegg (and its not bad ram either!). so 2 gigs shouldnt be bad at all.

if you dont have the cash for 2 gigs or w/e, i have 2 512 mb ram sticks from my mac (i dont need them b/c i got new ram) that i can sell to you. this will give you 1 gig total, but you need to make sure that your computer can take 2 sticks of ram.

You have to make sure the RAM from your MAC is compatible before you sell it to him (which is likely isnt). There are a lot of different types/speeds of RAM, google your motherboard and find out what RAM is compatible with your MOBO.
