Questions about "new site" issues you may have

The red names are far too busy to deal with peoples' concerns right now; paul is working hard and pretty much constantly (I believe he has had less than 3 hours "me-time" since yesterday at 7am). If you have questions, please direct them to the mods. We don't have all the answers just yet because our preview of this new system was not all encompassing, but anything we can't answer, at least we can make a note of for the big guys to read when they have time.

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting feedback on this right now so we all know what needs to be adjusted in the coming weeks! If you notice something that doesn't work or doesn't make sense, PM a green name!

where is the sia 2007 page...i looked, but couldn't find it...maybe i missed something. hekp would be appreciated.
 
well three issues really: 1. Not OPERA compatible...
2. The homepage has too much clutter and the header is boring, no name in it or anything. Also, news and events should be higher on the list over the park and team posts... news and events are of higher importance than what so and so did on so and so team..
3. The Sub-navigation is not organized by importance, media and arts is before ski gabber, i understand being closer for mouseover, but it should resemble the old site as far as organization. good work on all the updates and everything but when are we gettin the new wallpapers.. the downloads page is now 3 behind.
 
lol thats really not a good reason to not be compatible with this wysmyg.. opera has gestures, speed dial, great tabs etc... you should try it before you knock it. dont say IE is better..
 
when i logged on earlier today it looked like i had mod powers because it said "delete reply" next to posts. but that's been remedied. yay and boo.
 
I prefer Firefox honestly. I agree that the site should be compatible, but after a week of trying Opera, I just got frustrated and switched back to Firefox.
 
No auto link creation when posting messeges. Yeah there's the tags but couldn't this be added as well pretty easily?

And not being able to tab out of this box that I'm typing in really pisses me off. I do it every time.
 
Easy one.

The karma system, is it instant? Meaning, if a guy goes on some sort or rampage, will his karma instantly drop or will it go through the floor the next day?
 
team/park updates are not in order of when they were last updated. hard to scan through them to figure out if there are any new ones.
 
I'll be honest. When I'm on dial-up, don't laugh, my lady lives in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have high-speed available at her place, the site just doesn't work. The reply box won't turn to a text area. Also, the Opera thing will be a big deal to me, because when I am at home, I use Opera. The mouse gestures are key and I like the layout more than firefox. I haven't tried to access it from home yet.
 
Also a petty suggestion.

The usernames under "My friends" should be links to those profiles if you ask me.
 
Different strokes for different folks. I myself prefer Opera. It's shitty that NS isn't compatible with a common browser.

I'm also dissappointed that there is no seperate classifieds forum, and that SkiEquipment is still being used as the classifieds.

 
I'll try that sometime.

I also changed back to basic text entry, and it has helped alleviate some issues. the text box is buggy otherwise. (if you click to another window, and then go back, you can't "enter" and start a new paragraph.
 
So, I'm trying to upload a picture thats 571 kb.... and its sending me to a blank page. Tried everything, even other pictures, I get nada. Anyone?
 
Agreed.

The load page after you've uploaded a picture is still a blank page, we should be directed back to the page where it uploaded or something.

Otherwise, it's looking great, much faster than at first.

and just a thing is on firefox theres no little ns icon at the top of the tab anymore, not a complaint more of just an observation
 
what are all you mods/red names doing thats keeping you so busy? im just curious, im not calling you out. all i can think of is deleting threads and banning people haha
 
i think its turning too much into myspace/facebook. whats up with the whole status shit in the profile? and movie/book interests or photography/videography thoughts? honestly, i think thats all kinda dumb

We have lives outside of NS you know. We aren't on here 24/7 just doing shit.
 
I don't think it's necesarrily a bad addition.

If you don't like it, then don't fill the area in. It's not required by any means.
 
The new site crashes my Pocket PC when I try to login. Running IE on Windows Mobile 5.0.
 
yeaaa agreed its REALLY slow. But Im sure it should speed up soon (hopefully). Its crazy slow right now for me.
 
Pictures still a problem for me and some other people... any word on this? It just sends me to a blank page....
 
One issue,,, Sometimes when i click on ie, ski gabber or non-ski gabber or whatever link it takes forever to load the page or it doesnt load at all.....other times its fast and good. The home page always loads fast and ok though. Hope that helps.
 
Just an update on the Opera situation.

It does, for the most part, work. There are some small quirks on the main page that don't operate smoothly. But the site is still usable.
