Questions about Fiberglassed skis for Water ramps..

So,

I don't want to break any more of my teams water ramping skis at the UOP annnd I'm headed down to the 4FRNT factory today (hopefully) to get some help fiberglassing my skis.

I'm planning on cutting holes in the areas on my skis from a little in front of the toepiece to near the tip, and then from just behind the heelpiece to near the tails.

My questions are:

1) How much fiberglass should I use for each ski? Is 2-3 layers enough, or should I use more?

I weigh around 200 lbs.

2) Should I just put some glue in my mount holes when I remount my skis and just use standard screws? Or should I use longer screws/heely coils?

MS paint diagram? Ideally you don't want to cut into the ski at all, especially with water ramping. If you cut to the core then youre cores will soak up the water and rot. Same goes for the screws, definatley use epoxy to screw them in. How have the skis been breaking on the ramp?

Mostly just snapping them, ripping edges, pulling toe pieces out, etc.

I'm still deciding whether or not I'm gonna cut 'em. But if I do, I'll just fiberglass over the exposed core I think.

No. Just cutting holes in the CENTER of the skis both in front and behind of the bindings so that I'm not killing my back every time I have a hard landing.

I'm thinking I'll just fiberglass over the exposed areas of core though, so it should stay sealed.

Ohh, so basically you want it so the ski has less surface area when it contacts the water? Righ now I'm guessing the skis spank the water as opposed to plunging into it, right? Seems like it might work, only issue would be that drilling too many holes would weaken the ski alot (if were thinking of the same idea) anyways as fate as dealing the holes go, 2 layers of glass should be plenty, but use three if your really worried about sealing it up. Make sure the physical hole is somewhat rough, the epoxy will bond better. Good luck, post up results or yell at me if I still don't get it.
