SO I am about to pick up a pair of 08 Chronics and I'm wondering what size to get. My 05 Chronics were 172.

I am 5'10" ~ish, some people say I am 5'11"

I weigh about 155 Pounds

Now Should I get the 171 or 176? I know a longer ski is more stable at high speeds, but a shorter one is also mosre agile. I also plan on getting them about 5cm-off center mounted.

i am 5'8" and i have 169cm. If you are 5'10" then i would go for the 176cm becuase 2.54cm=1in so 2inches=about 5cm difference. And with the 5ch off centerid want them longer

however it you want to do tricks then they should be shorter, so the choice is up to you

Its actually easier to do stuff like tailgrabs and such on longer skis becuase the ski is easier to reach. And I dont really notice the extra lengh when it comes to swing wieght.

I would get the 176's or bigger if you can get them. Im 6 ft and on 183's and will never go back to shorter skis.

the chronics aren't a symmetrical ski... so mounting them back from center will be better for all mountain performance.

I would go with 176 or longer... your about my size and I'm on a 181 and I love them... so much more stable than a shorter ski. What you have to keep in mind is that the closer you get to a center mount (the more foreward from midsole) the shorter the ski is going to behave. so if your 5'10"ish then a 171 is going to be wayy to short for you especially if your +3,4 or more.

im 5'10" and i ride my 171 invaders from last year and they are fine. no matter what size you get it will not be easier to spin with 5 cm back

^ That's a mistake a lot of people seem to make. Just 'cause it makes it easier for you doesn't mean it's the right thing. Learn it the hard way... then you'll be able to do it with anything.

And I'm 5'6/5'7, riding 171's and I'm perfectly happy.
