yes u can run aim just download the mac version. and can u play games on a mac? thats the dumbest question ever! if its a pc game no. but every single even mediocore game is on the mac aswell. in fact g4's and g5's make awesome gaming computers if your into that

macsoft does ports of alot of games for mac...

ex. Age of Mythology, Halo, UT 2003, Civ3 and yes even call of duty

if you use virtual PC it lags the computer badly, and is hard to play games that are even remotly demanding....but you can try

virtual PC only lags a crap-ass mac with no processing power or RAM...if you get a new G5 with plenty of RAM (like you'd get if you were getting a PC for gaming) than you'll be set

 
the answer is: macs can lick my nuts. They suck, they cheat on their benchmarks, they have no good original games (all their games are ports from PC, which they get about 6 months later). Dont bother with macs. if you need to upgrade, the only option is to thrown out your mac and buy a new one. they suck large monkey testicles. the only thing they have going for them is their graphics software.

^you are a complete dumbass. i'm willing to bet you've never used a high end mac for more than 15 min. at a mac stor and you hated it because you cant afford it and dell makes SUCH a better computer. i dont hate pcs in fact i use both even though i prefer mac. i just hate dumbasses like you. if u say u prefer pc and dont care for mac thats fine but when u say that u make a complete ass of yourself. thats bulshit about the games 90% of the good games come out on both sytems at the same time. take unreal 2004 it came out on both mac and pc at the same time and it was official on both. plus what the fuck does that matter? only thing they have going is graphics? thats bullshit. and graphics are incredibly important and they go waaay better on a new g5 or even a g4. mac is leading for music, digital photography and all media is better and nicer. PC is great for all that too and if u dont have the money for a g4 or g5 then pc will suite you fine. mac is just better. but dont give me that bullshit about mac cheating on benchmarks. what proof do you have of that other than what your hacker friends and biased pc users tell you. MAC

 
macs are overpriced, the only think keeping me from buying one. they loook nice for music and movies/editing

 
^ and the prices of them would decrease...but the quality wouldn't...unlike pcs...you can buy a 650 dollar pice, but you'll have to put about that much into it in repairs over the next few years. Pc games can be run w/ virtual pc...but I heard they play slow

you cant compare the quality of PC's to the quality of MAC's because there are so many different PC companies. you can compare the quality of a mac to the quality of a specific PC company, but not to the whole group of PC's in general. E-machines makes horrible computers, while DELL is rated above Mac in terms of reliability and repairs by consumer reports.

I have not used a high end mac. Nor do i want to. I dont have a dell. Dell sucks bigger penis than mac (almost). NO, 90% of the good games DONT come out on mac. about 3% do, and they come out usually around 1-2 months late. they ahve to port it you see? because apple is gay and patents ALL of their shit. companies have to go through apple to prodocue stuff for macs. Unreal tournament 2004 hasn't been released yet. Unreal 2003 you mean? Too bad scripting on a mac machine makes it hundreds of times harder to mod. G5's and G4's do not have better graphics capacity than PC's. They have better software. They are leading in multimedia. If you are a dumbass and doenst know what a DRIVER is then go buy a mac. Mac cheated on their benchmarks. Its established. mac disabled HT on the PC when they tested, and disabled all of the other featurs which make PC's better. Mac isn't 'just better'. I do have hacker friends. You dont, because you use a mac. PC.

PS macs are gay, always will be gay and were only good when the apple II came out in like 1975 or something. THat's it. ENd of story. Gaming on a mac is like gaming on a console... if you dont understand then you are also gay.

^^and by the way you are right ut 2004 isnt released till march 16. but i am actually staring at my very own copy of it for the MAC which i purchased from ebay and it works great. both the mac and pc version have the same release date. not that it matters.

^lets not fight theres no reason for it. noone can win. and i dont actually have the game it was my friend who purchased for mac off ebay and i was looking at it when i posted. its alot better than ut2003 theres new types of games. and the vehicles kickass it's like halo but with less of a plot and more levels and funner nonmultyplayer. but multyplayer is sooo much better. you should download the demo in the meantime its pretty good i play it alot because im not special enough to get it early.

Macs can do pretty much everything that PCs do, except gaming. There are a few games, though. That's what keeps me from buying a mac, actually.

CS is for shitheads... wtf would you want to play that game on anything?

another thing to consider...aside from the 512 chip I put in my old iMac...I've never had to put a dime into a mac after I bought it...no repairs, no tech work, no virus help, I haven't even had to do any labor on them...And I own a mac that's 14 years old, a 11 year old, and a 9 year old powerbook that still run like the day they were new...I've never heard of a PC user who hasn't had to replace a part or take it in for something

i find it hard to believe your CPU fans and PSU are 14 years old. And i find it harder to believe they require no maintenance. In 2 years with my current desktop i have had to replace 2 cpu fans. Not cause they are PC based but cause of dust.

I'm not sure how I can prove it to you, but I promise you they've never been into a shop, My centris was actually unbelievable clean when I opened it up today...for the first time ever mind you)...maybe its the way they're built? Although out G3 tower is incredibly filthy inside...I might have to clean that some day

^^your an idiot my dad's mac se which is like 17+ years old which he had used a ton still runs as good as the day he bought it! nothing has been replaced all i can do to prove it is take a picture of it running illustrator version 1 or 2(not sure which is on there lol) and it runs illustrato perfectly we even can print of it on our 14 year old appl laser printer which prints as good or better than alot of the new black and white laser printers not that has anything to do with anything but it shows that apple = quality.

again im not dissing pc's i like pc i just hate people who use it and hate on mac.

i like both, but photoshop and some other high high end programs run faster on macs. howevr, it is true that there are like no games for mac, but i will be buying ut2004. and if you need a good file sharing program get limewire pro. it rocks. 400 songs in two days
