Ph.D. v. Sc.D. v Eng.D.

they are considered to be equivilent in America but many other countries consider the Sc.D. and Eng.D. to be higher doctorates. im in a B.S./M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering now but im bored and thinking about what to do when i finish this in a few years. Whats the benefits of choosing one over the others?

i'm not familiar with sc.d or eng.d or whatever, but i'm assuming they're much more difficult than a ph.d. to get a ph.d, you pretty much do a shit load of research in any area. at least, i could get one in psychology if i worked long enough on a thesis and etc. sc.d and eng.d are short for science and engineering probably (fuck you i'm not googling that right now). science classes, in my opinion, are MUCH harder than the average college course. if you got the brains, put in the extra effort
not that a ph.d isn't worth shit, i just think the science aspects would be seen with more, prestige maybe? kinda like the difference between a ba and a bs.
however, i could be a million miles off

I thought that only a handful of US schools offer sc.d. Maybe I am wrong. I am only in highschool so I am ignorant to things like that, but my dream is to be a professor or research professor.

thats the jist of it but since they are considered equal here im wondering if there would be any benefits (better jobs) to Sc.D. or Eng.D.

its not as common but there are a decent number. mostly better schools but once you get to that level its easier to get in there than undergrad

like mentioned, Sc.D. and Eng.D. are just Ph. D.s with a certain extra element taught into them

however, the Sc.D. v Eng.D. are really useful if you plan on doing something specifically in engineering, etc

Ph. D. is a more universal degree and can help with a larger multitude of things than the latter two, and be perhaps more accepted
