Question for hiking Vail

Ohhh yeahh...... Dude if you ask me, besides East Vail obviously, this is where the Real BC goods are at Vail. Basically an infinite number of sick lines, almost gaurenteed super-deep fresh tracks, and mininal hiking in and out from the bottom. PM me for more info., not that I don't trust you, I'm just worried about certain people headed back there as there are some pretty serious cliffs/rocks/tree wells/ways to get lost, ect... back there...

Smail, careful if you head out there, there is actually a gate up there on top of blue sky, snow is almost always AMAZING, and its super easy to get back in, becareful though, lots of rocks and cliffs that sneak up on ya out there if you arent paying super good attention. Also if i remember right the bottom of that was super tight treed and takes a bit of maneuvering out.
 
ya easy traverse out to that open bowl but there are expossed cliffs all the way over great place

i was there on the 22 of decemeber and it was really nice
 
skiers left of blue sky is a cliff band called millers cliffs, then further left is an area called the shaft. it gets tracked out pretty quick, but normally has good snow and some good lines. the sketchiest part of it is the area far, far skiers left, where there is the ridge with no snow. you dont really need a beacon for it, so long as you ski it down the gut where there are more trees. just make sure you dont pop out too far below the lift, otherwise it can be a long hike out, but if you traverse early enough theres no hike out.
 
DONT FORGET to check the avalanche center first. Over 100 have been reported just this last snow storm.

Funny... I went today and loved it, but had no idea about the parking... 20 bucks? fuck that, why?
 
yeah man i hike miller's a lot. there is a smoke shack right before a nice cliff band if you go in at patrol sign 3. If that doesn't float your boat- go past and drop in when it starts opening up again, it's steep and deep, but as mentioned before; it does get kinda tracked out. don't drop in at sign 1 and 2, i think it's really tight trees in a sketchy spot...

anyways if you feel like going with someone i am always down
 
another vote for that backcountry. really sweet stuff, just make sure you go hard right once it starts to level out and you don't really have to hike at all. lift serviced backcountry is what we always say.
