yesterday i was jovially romping in the fresh 9 inches of snow with friends and long story short i saw a 3 foot bank type thing with a flat landing. without thinking i leaped off it and did a frontflip and landed hard on the flat landing below. i landed with a bent knee and i just kinda collapsed in on my knee, so the heel of my shoe slammed my ass hard and my knee just bent more than it should have. it didn't twist at all though. but yeah my stomach went into my knee which just bent a lot and kinda squashed my calf muscle
immediately i felt pain but i never had that "oh shit" pop moment where you really feel like you've fucked something up. i could totally walk fine and everything so i kept moving around. it started to hurt and hurts now on the outside of my upper calf, so if you trace the outer most of the 2 tendons underneath your knee and go down until it hits your calf muscle, it hurts right there
when i bend and unbend very fast i feel a slight clicking directly in the center of my whole knee but nothing sickening or painful and in general the pain is pretty dull, it doesnt inhibit me from walking it just hurts a bit. there's no squeaking or weakness really. now, when i sit in a chair and put my foot in a duck footed position and twist, it hurts my whole knee. it also hurts a lot when i rest my leg above the knee on something and the rest hangs freely, so if i were to lie on my bed on my side with my lower leg hanging off the end
so, the next few days has skiing dryland in store for me which is generally just abs and leg workouts, no running, and i plan on skiing both days this weekend which i don't see hurting. just wondering if anyone's had this happen and if you think i should go see a doctor. i really don't want to go to a doc and be told i can't ski, but if it's serious then i will willingly go. i figure it's just a reverse-hyperextension but there's very very minimal swelling and the bulk of the pain is on the outside of my upper calf
