Question about video transitions

hi,you know them the red yellow transitions and they are often used in ski videos like pull up but how can i make them...???

 
What you are talking about is 16mmm film burn. It happens at the beginning and end of a roll of film...

and theyre sometimes faked in digital footage, which is sort of lame but it can look nice

You can probably fake it by making a gradient from red to yellow in photoshop and then fooling with transitions in your editing program, but i wouldn't recommend it because as previously stated, they don't look too good. Just another advantage of film I suppose.
