Question about tip protectors

I am trying to fix my vishnus broken tails (what a suprise) and took tip protectors off of some old carving skis. They were bolted on the bottom of the ski SO is it okay to bolt on little screws to the bottom of my skis. It's bit weird to me and i have only seen them screwed to the topsheet. I will use epoxy too!
 
Actually not a bad idea. I would bolt them all the way in but do it safely to where it’s not gonna shred up the whole tip. IE don’t drill too close to the edge if you can.
 
If your doing it at the tip/tail then shouldn’t have to worry especially with Vs as the rocker has them far away from the snow
