Question about skiing switch (possibly a dumb question)

Are longer skis easier to ride switch on, particularly more easy to control riding into jumps and popping?

This season I made it one of my goals to learn how to ride switch comfortably. I eventually learned how ride switch pretty well (looking over both shoulders and staggering feet properly). And I learned cab 1's off of decent sized jumps later on in the season.

Anyways, I spin to the left and wanted to start working on sw spins to the left instead of right only. I would feel very unstable coming into a jump switch on 171 skis (I am roughly 6 ft. and usually ski 187 YLES which were stolen). I felt like I would be out of control when I got to the lip and I had a hard time noticing if my skis were staggered properly.

My main question is if a ski significantly too short plays a big role when riding into/taking off of jumps switch or if the bigger problem is that I am not that experienced enough yet riding into/taking off of jumps while looking over my (weaker) left shoulder. I am fairly new when it comes to switch takeoffs, but because I had my switch skiing down well, I think my ski length could be an issue too.

Sorry if there is an obvious answer, I'm not a big park guy.

When I first bought my skis they had rental bindings on them and they were set really far back. So, when I bought new bindings I got my skis center mounted and it makes a huge difference when skiing switch and taking off switch. I'm 5' 8" and I have 171's and they feel a bit short so you may want to go with longer skis. But, I think that the more tail you have, the more stable you'll feel.
