Hey all, I'm looking on relocating up to the Seattle area next year and will be going back to school for Post Baccalaureate work in either Biology or Neurobiology and am looking as schools in the area. I am well aware of UW and I know a little bit of WSU, but are there any other reputable schools in the area that have a good biology or Neuroscience program in preparation for Medical School? I know there has to be some smarties in here.

Anyone?

I don't think that anyone here is doing medical sciences. but I do know that the UW has one of the best medical programs in the country.

one guy i know is at uw for cardiology. definabtly very competitive. uw is probably your best bet for a large research university. there are some good smaller schools, but no one wants to live in tacome...

Yeah, I know, but they have a satellite campus in the Seattle area. As a result of them being out in the middle of no where I have taking them out of the list of places I am considering.

So aside from UW are there any other universities in the area?

there are quite a few, im just not sure if they have the post graduate programs your looking for. there's Seattle pacific, Seattle U, UPS, Western washington, and some other that i can't name off the top of my head.

No way, I'm an undergrad at UW and majoring in Biology/(Physiology), and I'm working at the UW's Neurosurgery Department as a Research Assistant. Dude, we should talk!

But yeah, UW med school is insanely hard to get into, even more so if you're from out of state. I dont know too much about other programs besides that, but I really should start looking into it now that I'm set on not going to med school. Seattle is a nice place tho, and UW has treated me very well. Plus, theres some good skiing around here. I'd check this area out of I were you.

I'm majoring in Biology at Gonzaga and its decent. I'm not sure how many options exist here for post bac work but UW does have the reputation of being the bbest. Sorry I wasn't a lot of help.

Right on all, thanks much for your help. It looks like UW seems to be the best alternative for the kind of program I am looking for.

Rekker, I'm gonna PM you.
