Question about hockey

I just watched a hockey fight on Bleacher Report where they set up when the whistle blew to fight

Why do they set up to friendly beat the shit out of each other without even having beef during the game?

The whistle is the ref blowing to stop the play because the fight broke up and you never really know usually its because a team is winning at the other team is pissed

The reason they line up and wait for the whistle is because the rules say that fights can go unbroken (for the ref''s safety) within periods of the game. If you start a fight outside regulations it's considered aggression and the player is usually fined and given a misconduct.

Thread Jack, if I got into a fight during a hockey game in high school would there be any repercussions outside of that game?

Hard to say about "high school" hockey, but in minor league hockey fights break out all the time. As long as it's on the ice during the game there is usually just a suspension from hockey. If parents/fans jump the boards during a bench clearing brawl they may face a fine or hearing from law enforcement. I've seen a fair number of brawls where fans and parents jump the ice but no one ever faced any real punishment from authorities, usually just suspensions from minor hockey games

Depends. I know you would probably get a misconduct but as far as legal repercussions, it all depends on how hard you kick his ass.

typically they do their best in HS hockey to break fights up but there has been a few brawls. look them up on youtube, im too lazy to link. as far as punishment goes, i know you definitely get thrown out of the game, suspended from play but i dont think they would suspend you, at least from what ive heard. a couple of my friends goon'd it up one night and only got suspended 5 games. its weird, i dont think ive ever heard of kids pressing charges for getting their asses kicked. most of the time, kids start the shit themselves and get whaled on.

when i played in hs, if you fought, you were done. not just for the game, but for the season. gloves dropped, that is...

no legal repercussions if that's what you're getting at....

Probably not, but you can't fight in HS. Which is why you play junior, because it's allowed!
