Question about going out

Alright, heres what I never understood, can anyone give me at least one logical reason?

Why is it that everyone insists on going out to bars, clubs... wherever you preffer, only after 10pm? Why do people go out on week days and start the party at 10 when they are working or going to school the next day? why not start at 8 or something?

1: Its cheaper: a lot of places have cheeper drinks at this time

2: no Cover charge: I have never heard of a place that charges a cover at this time

3: no lines: you get there at 10 and your in at 11... why not go there at 8 and be in at 8!?

4:get to chose your place: no assholes are sitting where you want to be... because they will be there at 10

5: not tired the next day: You have 2 hours more of sleep, or 2 more hours to party

6: you can actualy have more than a beer and catch the last buss and metro to get home.

heres the only reason I found why people go out late instead of a reasonable hour. Its cool! why is it cool? because it makes people look tough. "yah im going to party tonight Im going at 10, Il be back the next morning at 4 and Il go to work" Its true, if you leave early, everyone bags on you because your not tough and you should not care about work and just party. why not just party at 8 and do both?

theres my question... people give me logical reasons for going out so fucking late.... please

Disclaimer: MatRich should/is/will/absolutely be partying at IF3 until at least 4am. Thus can be concluded he is a "tough bro" and gains 3 street cred points.
 
If you actually knew how to party you would understand that the majority of fun is had at your friends house prior to going out. You sit around with all your friends and drink yourself stupid, then it takes at least a half hour to get everyone out of the house.

Time spent at the bar is trivial because everyone ends up losing each other and then just recapping all they can remember the next day.

You don't need to spend 6 hours at the bar to maximize the amount of fun. and if your hammered you are going to stay up late anyway eating pizza and chasing girls.

People go to bars to meet other people, not to have a lot of space and cheaper drinks. Everybody is ready to go out at 10, plus that puts a time limit on everything, 10-2 then go home.

I actually really miss house parties. Enjoy those while you still know people in college. The bars are overrated.

 
Next thing you know, you'll be 75 years old and going, "well, if i go to dinner at 3:30 i can get a cheaper meal and be home with plenty of time to watch my soaps and be in bed by 8:00"
 
This, and have you ever been to the bars at 8? Its fucking empty! I would rather drink my own beer with my friends and then once your drunk go out and take some shots with sluts. Its much easier to bed a slut at 2am then 10 pm
 
yah im canadian, I live near montreal...

for those who are saying stuff like its easyer to get girls .... ok Il give you that. but what I dont get is when a big group of people ( like 5-10) people go out to have beers, it still only starts at 10 even though there is no intention of hooking up.
 
hey matt when I'm up in the area for IF3 lets meet up and go to some clubs, it'd be baller!

Wanna meet somewhere around, say, 10? That's when things get kickin!

4. You should not be sitting in a club. Anyone who is not on the dancefloor needs to GTFO. The dancefloor provides ample drinking and macking opportunities, so there's no excuses

When I first started going out, normal club times were 10pm-4am. Now, in London at least, clubs don't get going until 1am, and close at 9am.

I prefer going out later for a number of reasons:

1.Everyone is drunker. It makes for a better party, and makes girls more responsive to my advances.

2.I have 2 days when I only have afternoon lectures, so I've got plenty of time to sleep.

3. Everyone else does it. If I went out at 10pm, I'd be on my own for a few hours.
 
many reasons. for one no offense but 19 isnt exactly old, so things will change. but like tasche said, house parties are way better than the bar for a lot of reasons, and i sure as hell dont want to spend 4 or 5 hours at a bar, so why wouldnt i make my 2 hours at the bar the last/craziest/most packed hours (the 2 hours before last call)?

also, when i was in college (..3 months ago) i liked chilling hard for hours after school and before going out. just blaze and play video games with some dudes and shit then pregame a bit before heading out at like 10 or 11
 
I'd have to agree with you, it seems logical, but it's a pipe dream; it'll never happen. By the time people get to the pregame spot it ends up being at least 830, prob more like 9. Then you pregame for awhile, start saying "alright lets go, everyone finish your drinks" after that, everyone finishes their drink, then gets another. Before you know it, it's 11pm and then you're like " shit we really gotta get outta here".

I think it boils down to people just being lazy and moving slow, needing to drink more before moving. Plus if you're going out, you're trying to enjoy yourself, so you're not likely to push yourself to move quickly.

Additionally, have you ever been at a bar at 10pm? I bet it sucks. People don't go to bars at night to chat and leisurely enjoy beers. That's for dinner, happy hour, and early pregame period. When it's bar time, it's all about deafeningly loud music, strong drinks, and the dancefloor. And that shit don't happen til 11.
 
I miss being at the point in my life where this would be a real concern for me. Kids...stay in college as long as possible.
