So I'm making some brownies (not special brownies) and it says I need to add vegetable oil. I can't find any vegetable oil. Can I just use olive oil instead? Obviously I know jack shit about baking, so any help would be appreciated.

i had this exact same situation like last month and decided to go with olive oil, mine tasted really really shitty i wouldnt do it

Yep. You can use olive oil instead. It won't make a difference, I make a lot of brownies, and sometimes I use olive oil, vegetable, canola, sunflower, whatever is there. You can also substitute butter or margarine, just melt it to the same quantity as the oil was supposed to be.

It's always worked out for me.

There ya go, I never even bother to melt it, I know there is some out of the tub conversion but melting is easier than research.

We have a cooking tips and conversions magnet we got from our local real estate person, oh Gail Vasquez if you only knew how many times you've saved my ass.

you can use olive oil, but not to strong an olive oil, else the flavors will fuck each other over, just substitute for clarified butter...

ended up just going out and buying vegetable oil. I'll have to try using butter next time though.
