Question about cameras and lenses

What are the main differences between a sony digital 8 handycam (DCR-TRV350) and a $400 sony miniDV (DCR-HC21)?

I'll be using it at the mountian, and want to know if it is worth the upgrade. The D8 has a USB and DV ports as well.

Also, i'd like to get a wide angle and/or fish eye lense(s) to use, what do you recomend?

i'm not sure on those exact models.. but i have a minidv thats 2 years old, and my friend has a handy cam thats a year old. And between the two of them mine has better quality of picture, and is a little better for night shots.

However, mine is a bit bigger and heavier than his... and man we bring his everywhere cause its so damn small... so its kinda a toss up, i think.
 
thanks,i guess i'll just go with the digital 8 cause it was given to me.

What lenses are good for follow cams and how do you tell the difference in angles?
