If i buy new skis now and get bindings mounted in time for hood, will i be able to use the same mount when i get bigger boots at the beginning of next season?

i've always gotten them at the same time so idk much about it

+K for legit answers

if your boots max out the bindings you are getting, then no. But if you look at the heel piece and there is room to slide back and acomidate a bigger boot, then yes.

if you tell them what boots your planning on changing too they might be able to find one that fits both easily.

Ask the people mounting your bindings to mount them with the heel adjustment as close to the minimum (ie smallest) as possible. Most bindings have a few sizes of adjustment using the forward pressure control. If you only go up a size or 2, you should be fine.

ill only be going up a size or two in boots but i was planning on getting fks140s if that makes a difference

I don't think that fks bindings can adjust for different sole lengths, thats part of the reason they're so light. You'll have to get remounted but having 2 mounts isn't really a big deal at all.

FKS have barrel adjusters for forward pressure, maybe a bit less than others, but still probably do one size.

Yeah, the FKS can usually get you one size bigger if mounted right. The only issue is whatever your mounting position was you will be one cm further back, i.e. if you were center mount then you will now be 1cm back. Ski can hold up to multiple mounts though so anything bigger than one size get them re drilled.

You can't adjust an FKS heel a full size bigger or small if they're mounted correctly. You normally need to set an FKS jig 5mm smaller than your boot in order for the mount to be correct in the middle of its adjustment range. So get your guy to mount with the jig set exactly for you current boots and you'll maximise the adjustment range. You really need someone who knows this to do the mount for you, even better if they can do a trial mount on an old ski and check with your current boot and one 10mm bigger.
