QUEST FOR SNOW Sep 2018

Aight so here's what is going down. Me and some homies made a goal to ski every month of 2018. So far we have been successful. We live in Utah right now, and last month hiked to the top of Mt Timpanogos to ski a little patch, but I'm pretty sure it has melted since then.

SO THIS IS WHERE WE NEED HELP:

September is about to end so we need to find some snow. Does anyone know where there is still some existing snow anywhere near Utah, or within 8 hours of driving from the park city area?

Do you have to ski on snow, or just ski? Cause if you found some sand dunes you could do that.

Go to Colorado, ski St Mary's glacier if there's no fresh snow on the passes. It's going to be about a 7-8 hour drive from Park City.

Yeah, St Mary's stays in all year, it's always a safe bet. Rollins pass probably still has some snow, but it's pretty steep and the entrance and exit are typically pretty sketchy this time of year. Andrew's and Tyndall glaciers in RMNP also stay in, but that's probably even more of a drive than St Mary's. Good luck!

Bozeman is 6hrs. There is a pretty nice dusting on the peaks as well as a whole chute that is still holding snow and rideable. Probably 15 turns worth+-

Good luck mang. I'm glad I skied Palmer twice right at the beginning of Sept. Keeping the streak alive!

Report back and let us know where you ski.

Update: We made went to St. Mary’s glacier. The locals said it was the worst they have ever seen it but we still got to ski (idk if you can really call it skiing) September!

Nice! I was up there on Thursday. The lower snowfield is definitely super thin compared to past years, but that short, steep little line was actually surprisingly smooth and fun.

Time for Oct. turns now. I think I need to go hiking the first weather window we get. I have to work this week so crossing my fingers for the weekend. Good chance lift will open later this month but it's a bit of a gamble.
