Quality Leather on SPK Pro boots

hey, i'm thinking about getting a pair of Salomon SPK pro boots but i'm concerned about the leather around the toe area. Does it get cut easily by your edges or does it hold up? and what makes the SPK pro any better from the SPK kreation and kaos boots

any help on this is appreciated.

thanks

sorry. but the leather SPK is the DUMBEST thing ive seen in a long time. the boot is exactly the same as the standard boot, but with a bunch of pointless leather glued on, that just adds weight, (especially when wet), and prevents you from being able to do ANY kinda custom bootfitting. yes, ill agree it looks sweet, but they are just completely pointless. pay more for a shittier boot.

Um wrong...the SPK pro has a different flex (95) and I don't think a few small pieces of leather add a tremendous amount of weight.

pros also have a toe shock absorber and a better heel shock absorber than the kaos. the more mouldable liner too. i chose to grab the kaos for cheap, but if youv got the extra cash the pro is a bit better . quoting Cibbles.

Toe shock absorber? I own these boots yet have never fond this toe thing you speak of. Are you sure?

The liner is still shit...

The flex is stiffer, 95 vs. 85 on the kaos, it depends whether you want a bit more versitility with your boot or just super soft for le park.

i have the spk pros and the leather on mine has a small rip on the inside, but other that that i think they held up really well

I find them really comfortable and perfect all mountain flex for my liking

the leather really isnt such a good idea tho, the inside of the ancle has been ripped to shreds, this only after about 5 weeks of use

yea and the kaos has a flex of 95. last time i checked 95 and 95 were equal, no? the kreation has a flex of 85, like last years

A stiffer, less park oriented more all mountain/bc oriented SPK boot, new for next season. there were pics and threads on it

SPK Pro and SPK Kaos are the same except for the leather. maybe a different insole, but all stock insoles suck balls.

SPK Kreation is the same as last years boot.

I got a quick question. How alike are the kaos's and the pro's? When I tried on the pro's they fit wonderfully, and the shop did not have kaos's, so are their sizes the same? Is it worth shelling out an extra $100 (end of season sales) for the pro's?

as said before, i'm pretty sure you can't do custom bootfitting

i don't know how you would stretch the boot out with the leather on the outside

fuck that

i bought the kaos so im not certain about it but i remember hearing about it more than once.

the kaos and pro ARE different boots, pros are stiffer, have a gel (as opposed to foam) heel shock absorber, possibly a toe shock absorber (not sure about that) and a more mouldable liner.

They are the same boot, same flex, same fit, maybe a different shock absorber, but thats just another gimmick anyway. The only real diference is the leather that does kinda fuck up the boot fitting process.

how does the leather mess up the fitting process? i thought custom molded boots molds the liner and inside of the boot to your foot, not change the outside of the boot.

The Spk pro's in my opinion are great. They are lighter than most boots, plua have shock absorbers built into the heel and toe.

The leather adds a good look to the boots and extra style. Although you have to be careful with the front white cloth parts as these can get dirty quickly.

And if you find a little bit of leather heavy you seriously need to do some exercise.

the leather is now like stretching the boot so you can not move it man...is just a style thing so you can do custom fitting

it's called shell shaping buddy

the liner of a boot will stretch to fit a persons foot in most cases.

however, if you have a fuckin wide foot like me, it's not enough.

in these cases you need to actually press out the shell of the boot. something i don't see happening with the leather on the outside.

they are the same god damn flex. get it in your head. they are the same god damn boot minus the leather, and a couple gimmicks.

SAME FLEX

the numbers salomon posts dont mean shit. iv skied both boots and the pros are stiffer

if theres something that the spk's arnt.. its horrible

there sick boots.. i definetly recomend them

well if the dhell is gonna stretch is not goin to be something that the leather can not manage... way more elasticty in the leather than in the shell
