Quads and dirtbikes

I'm 13 now , I've wanted a dirtbike since I was five but was never allowed. Few months ago my parents said I could if I bought it. Finally saved up enough money found one on craigslist. About to buy it they hear a kid dies on a quad so I'm not allowed. I need a good excuse or some facts to change their minds. Also post you dirtbike quad or motorcycle if u own one

tell them to stop driving because you might die on the highway, and that if you practice riding a dirt bike now, when you buy a motorcycle later in life you will know how do ride it better and will be safer on the highway....
what bike you looking to get?

no joke that was me exactly. when i was 5 i saw my neighbor on a dirtbike and wanted one. saved 'til i was 12 to get one. then found a yamaha on craigslist

Just show them all of the positive things about them. Like how they bring ppl together and shit

just wait a little bit, they'll come around
i have a honda xr250r dirtbike and a honda rubicon 500 4 wheeler that was stolen last summer when it was basically new and then the cops recovered it and now it's a total piece of shit. the redneck faggots who stole it tried to paint it, ripped off a lot of the plastic casing, and tore off some of the metal so they could use it for scrap. but the thing still runs great

just tell them that you really love the dirtbike and will teach you how to be smarter on a motorcycle in the long run

have them watch that video. they'll be so worried about you turning gay for listening to foo fighters that they will counter act it by making you do a manly thing. that'll end you up with either a dirtbike, quad or a 20 buck hooker.

we got it back from the cops and it literally started the first time i hit the button. good ole hondas. i still took it to the shop to have them make sure it was cool and before i explained what happened they looked at me and said "you bought this like new a year ago...what the fuck happened"

Tell them its to impress chicks.

...... becuase we dont call them qyads herre? I cell them quads.......does that make me a brittt? i think not meh amigo

GEt one ,,a bije not a pussy ass quad, quads are for pussies real men ride fourstrokes not fucker 2smokers.

tell your momhow much pussy motocrosserss get and she'kk def.. be on board for the bike

I was the exact same way, except I never ended up buying one until I was 20. ha. Tell your parents to stop being so ignorant. Seriously, that is a very stupid thing to say. It just makes them look like unintelligent, uninformed, close minded people.
Ask them what you have to gain from NOT doing it.

Quads are a lot of fun they are basically unstoppable, that is, if you know how to ride one. Ive been riding Quads and dirtbikes for 13 years, (I'm 16 now). You have alot more fun when you know how to use the machine and know what it is capable of. I'm always fucking pissed when i turn on the news and hear about some redneck family offroading/wrecklessly driving and they end up flipping it and boom they're dead. To get a quad/dirtbike you should show you're parents how resbonsible/mature you can be. Dirtbikes imo, are a lot more fun. Especially if you ride motocross. Be patient though because it takes time and effort to become a decent rider. Sooner or later you will be spanced.

I'm kind of crispied right now so i really don't know if this is relevant? But yeah get a durp-bike. I have a 2009 YZ250 and a 2010 CRF450R. The next question is whether you want a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke.

Yes/No. Well it just depends what the dude is looking for. I don't suggest a 4 stroke motocross bike. They are a lot of maintenance and quite expensive. You're better off with a TTR-125 because you are a beginner and you are young. They are great learning bikes and have the power that you need. But then there is the fun side. 2 strokes have way more power, way more of a thrill, and they are less expensive and less maintenance. I suggest a YZ85 ?

hahaha.. how is that relevant to anything in the reply you quoted? thats not even a true statement.

yeah your right, lets put a kid that has no moto experience on a two stroke. thats retarded, yamaha has proven a YZ 85 has the most power to weight ratio of any gas engine on earth. if you disagree you're an idiot

What expeirence do you have with motocross bikes? I doubt you are anywhere near my level. It's not retarded. It's totatlly different riding a 2 stroke from a 4 stroke. 2 strokes build a learning foundation, gives you knowledge on how to control your clutch, throttle control, precise turning and are a lot more fun to ride ect. Of any Gas engine on earth what are you comparing this to, i find this somewhat irrelevant. I disagree, i'm experienced, not an idiot. Fucking troll.

ive been riding for 12 years i am 18 now, i started on a ttr 90, then a yz85, then a kx250f, and now a ktm 300 exc. I race A class Harescramble, GNCC, and MX at the AMA level. I won the harescramble A class title in michigan for 14-15 2 times. you dont give someone whos never ridden a 2 stroke

How old were you on that 90. Cause that must have been a huge bitch. Coming from you i would think that you would agree with the 2 stroke idea, especially if you race GNCC, obviously you know that the majority of GNCC/Harescramble races are 2 stroke machines. Me and you are totally different though you're into the Enduro and i'm into track and i'm not sure where you're from Canada like me? or U.S? Because that's different too. So my achievments might not seem familiar with you. At this moment we don't really know what this kid wants to do. So if it comes to motocross i suggest YZ85. Nothing below that. God help him if he get's a 65.

i was 6 when i was on a 90, imo start with a 4 stroke then go 2 stroke, i would never own another 4 stroke, my dad rides a wr450f and i ride a 300exc and my bike is faster, lighter, and has a much bigger hit. Im from the U.S

just tell them this... "cars move. Trees do not. If you wont let me buy this i will buy a motorcycle when i am older."
plan ans simple; worked for my good friend... good luck!

have you ever watched the little guys in the 50cc and 65cc classes ride? you wont see a kid on anything but a two stroke because thats what the LEARNED to ride on. learning on a two stroke builds a better foundation as a rider because you learn not to just pin it to win it. all those little kids bring their skills from the two up to the four when they are ready for that kind of power.

Tell them it's like skiing, people die skiing right?

You sound like me when I was younger.. same story.

First dirtbike was a honda cr80, that thing was fun as shit! moved up to a yz250 and that was scary fast.

Rockin out with a Harley Sportster 1200 Custom right now, fuckin sweet road bike.

Bikes are safe if you know how to ride them and what better way to learn than on a dirtbike? it's all relative just be safe, know your limits. I broke my leg once dirtbiking and that wasn't fun but that kind of shit happens if you get too comfortable.

Good luck dude hope you can get your bike!

They know I'm responsible enough we have super charged sea doos that I can take out by myself and a 2005 Malibu I've driven quads and know how to shift a semi auto never ridden a dirtbike except for electric ones lol I have a go kart and trails through the woods but I will take it to tracks and haspin acres occasainily I think I'm going to go 2 stroke if anything as I'm not familiar with working on them yet and they are lower maintence I looked at a 80s model kx85 and am looking in the 2 stroke 85 range or 4 stroke 125

4 strokes are much lower maintenance but usually not as powerful. if you want power 2 stroke. if you want ease of use and less tune ups and engine rebuilds 4 stroke. 4 strokes are also quiter

You'll learn how to use a clutch pretty fast if you get a bike it's easy enough.

Also, tell your parents that it's a lot easier to die on a quad for the simple fact you can roll it and it weighs a lot. This is how most people die on ATV's. Dirtbikes have way less of a chance to hurt you if you do end up crashing.

No your wrong. sorry man.

4 stroke engines are much more complicated the 2 strokes and as long as you change/check your oil and radiator fluid you'll be good either way. BIGGEST thing is make sure your air filter is always clean, quickest way to burn up an engine is by having a clogged airfilter

How tall are you? How much power you want? What type of riding you want to do? What do you think your skill level is at?

if your just gonna be cruising around get a lil 110 or like you said and 85. if you wanna race definitely dont get a 110 and maybe consider a 125.

And if your parents are worried about you getting hurt. Get a quad, not a bike.

I totally agree with everything you said. But if this kid decides to get something such as a TTR125, they are indeed less maintenance. I have a 05 just to do random shit on and i haven't touched it rather than a rare air filter cleaning and new spark plugs. But please get an 85 not a 125. That's just way to much for a 13 year old.Starting too.

im pretty sure he means a racing quad. as opposed to a utility atv.

and everybody in minnesota calls them quads and last time i checked, MN isnt in England

word, the ktm exc's are such dope bikes. i ride a 200 exc and i smoke guys on 450's on the trails because my bike is lighter and faster. i love it.

yeah that is true but if he were to get a 125 4 stroke. its just like a 110 just a lil bigger.

your 100 percent rite tho. varying from brand to brand your gonna have less or more maintenance. Take KTM. if you dont take care of them they can give you alot of trouble, if you do there badass.

Honestly he should look into some off market japanese brand. wayy cheaper and hes not gonna need nor should he have any power to start off. maybe get a 50 with a bored out 110 engine. those things are fun as shit.

go with yamaha or suzuki if your gonna stick with the smaller bikes. they cater alot better to people who are just starting out but really in your situation its not gonna matter.

im thinking in a racing stand point whereas your just gonna more or less cruise around

Git-R-Done

Now that thats done, I first learned how to ride a dirtbike on a 250 2 stroke, at the young ripe age of 15. It was way too much for me, yea, it made me man up, but I wish I learned on a smaller bike. Get a 150 4 stroke, or 85, and if you get taller, then you can put bigger tires on a 85 if you aren't ready for a bigger bike. Right now I have a 250F and to be honest, the thing is huge, but I love it. I'm also 19.

i know man, my buddy has a 200 and i have a 300, imo the 300 exc is the perfect dirtbike, it rips moto tracks and is untouchable in trails

When I was a kid I liked
1) Comparing your chances of dying to your chances of being run over while crossing the street
2) Comparing the injury rate to a seemingly "safe" sport with a higher injury rate (ex. you are statistically more likely to be injured bowling than playing paintball).
Not sure about dirtbiking (i've certainly had a concussion from it, and almost drowned from getting knocked out while crashing in to a lake LOL), but I'm sure if you do some research there are some good statistics backing up its safety. Hell you can probably prove its good to give a 6 year old a gun if you spend enough time going through NRA articles so I'm sure you can pull it off.

Explain to them how quads are way more dangerous than dirt bikes. Quads weigh like 600 pounds and roll easily, whereas a dirt bike will just tip over most of the time.

Quads Dont kill there operators. Whoever was driving the quad killed themselves, involuntarily, but still. Unless the dipshit said "O no! Jesus take the handlebars!"

then i guess you could blame it on jesus.

cause its an enduro. If you brought a bike with a light on the track around here you'd get beat up. personally i dont give a shit, just sayin tho.

its not an enduro, its a moto setup. it doesnt have the headlight on half the time, no tail light either.
