Px12 JIBs and Rossi 120s Question...?

So i have some silencers from last year that i need to get bindings for. My two options are either getting px12 Jibs (brand new) or using some rossi axial 120s (from around 2004 butin real good condition). I have px12 TIs on my addicts from last year and i like the binding and havent had any problem with it but i was wondering what would be a best choice ???

i dont really care that the px12s will cost more since i would have to buy them new so thats not an issue i just wanted to know what people thought was a better binding?

Honestly, they are very similar that it wont even matter. For me, I like the px design a little better cause there is more forward pressure and better contact with the ski. but they don't make that much of a difference so get whatever is cheaper.

I dont hate my Px12's but I dont love them. They just hang out on my skis.

I have yet to try pivots, so I cant offer some help on that. I do know that the pivot heel is safer in the park, so perhaps you should try those?

PIVOTS!!!

trust me. heres y. the PX binder is designed mostly for system mounted, track bindings, where it is allowed to float. they work fine there. however, on flat-deck skis, like twins, they have a wicked long mounting pattern, and it TOTALLY ruins the feel of the ski. some people may argue this, but they haven't had enough time on different bindings to know the difference. the PX does have better interface, and is slightly more direct feeling. the big plus with the old pivots, is they have a pretty tight mounting pattern, and its under the heel of the boot, not behind it. this allows the tail of the ski to flex much more freely. it makes ollies, butters, and riding transitions much easier. The old pivots have a slightly muted feel, but it doesnt really affect park riding.

if you want the best of both worlds, pick up any pair of look/rossi turntable bindings. old or new, they are all excellent. they allow for incredible ski flex, have an awesome boot to ski interface, and generally kick ass. thats why you see so many good riders with them, cause they ski dramatically better than all other binders. i will warn you tho, they can be a pain in the ass from time to time. you always have to manually recenter the heel, keep an eye on forward pressure (the two threaded rods), and the brakes kinda suck. if you dont wanna deal with that stuff, get the pivots. but dont go with the PX.

I couldnt agree more with your firts paragraph! But, in the second paragraph, are you refering to the FKS, Zr, or TT09 bindings? Im thinking that because you said recentre the heel and the 2 screws...

yeah i think im going to try the pivots on these... these are actually the skis i bought from you! haha. i havent had any problems with teh px12s but ive never had anything else so i dont really know the difference like you said. thanks for the input

haha right on man! i hope you like those things, i had a blast on um.

and to the guy up there^, i was talkin about any of the bindings with the turntable heel, such as the TTs, ZRs, FKSs, pivot race, etc, all the same thing essentially.

and yea, good call on the pivots over PX, you should be able to notice the ski flexing alot more naturally behind the heels of your boot. its kinda crazy, if you take a pair of pivots that have been skied hard, and look at them, the metal track the heels ride on is usually bent upwards a good bit. it doesn't affect the binders performance, but it shows just how much more flexation you get outta the ski. plus i they release smoother. turntables have a more mechanical feeling release, but the pivots are the smoothest exiting bindings ive ever ridden.
