PVC vs. Composite decking

okay so i am building a rail and i was wondering which works better and some pros/ cons.

i used the magical searchbar and didnt really come up with anything on the composite decking.

i can get either so which one do you recomend + why?

thanks

pvc- cheap, easy to get, slides better

composite- expensive, has to be wet to slide half decent, leaves shit streaks on your skis

Don't have any composite decking experiance (except for considering but, finding out that it was way more expensive than pvc), but pvc slides so well. Its incredibly cheap, like 3.50 for 10 ft where as decking is like about 20. I was so surprised how well it slid.

i have a 12 foot composite decking rail and a 10 foot pvc shotgun rail and i think the composite decking rail is way better

you can get compostie decking in a longer length than pvc thats one plus. but i think pvc slides better.

i have a composite deck, really long and big with no rails and i've tried just hauling ass into, and jumping on, it doesn't slide well

i have both so hear it goes

PVC:

cheaper ($3 per 10ft)

slides all year round without wax/water

pretty durable

the only downside is it SUPER slippery, like faster than metal, so it can be hard to learn switch ups and 270's on cause it slides so fast

Decking:

expensive

you need to keep it wet when u ski on it, this wont be a problem in the summer(hose) but in the winter if its a bone dry cold day it simply wont slide that well

decking is wider and much slower than pvc, so you will find it much easier to learn tricks on it

NOTE: if u choose decking, make sure you get the kind with grooves in it, DO NOT GET the perfectly smooth type, it wont slide for shit

good luck
