pvc rails?

how are they..im told they catch edges easy..but i havent seen anyone do it yet...im building one today ive got a 10 foot 2'in PVC pipe...ill cut it down the middle to make 2 half circles....ill put em end on end so its twice as long...im just gonna use like a 1x1 underneath it and then make a base

nah thats all wrong man, just get 3 1 inch pieces and drill em on to a 2x4, like 10 foot long. thatll work

im telling you man it wont work as well, my rail was under 20 bucks and its wat i said b4 on a 2x10 and then 2x4 supports with a brace, i can take pics of it if u want me to

 
sure ill look at the pics..but i dont have alot of materials and i g2 do it today

Maybe its just me but PVC is possibly the easiest thing to slide....but dont cut in in half, when its cold enough they will shatter if you come down hard enough.

pvc works fine as long as u dont 'land' on it or diaster it, it slides really nice and its cheap too. But if u pop onto it to high and land hard on it it will break.

PVC is hte easiest and cheapest way to go. i built 2 pvc rails. there a pic in my profile if you want ot check it out. but what you do is, get 1/2 inch PVC pipe, any length, and put 4 of those on top of a 2x4. then build the rest of the rail from there. go look at the pic in the pictures part of my profile. i havent cracked it or caught an edge, its by far hte best if you cant get metal

PVC is dope if u can get it thick enough... get a ton of em and put em together in all different shapes and sizes!

if your making a box use sheet metal, I havtn actually tried it but it seems really smooth and its like 10 bucks for a sheet at home depot. Thats what we are using if we make a rail.

ummm me and my friend got an old slide from a play ground...and the slide itself is made out of like fiberglass or something...and we have some of it left so we r goin to make a slide box outta it...the others we used for a quater pipe...its CRA-Z!

For my box i just took out a 12 foot piece of wood in my garage, it was about 8-10 inches wide, and its about an inch thick and i just screwed down 4 pieces of PVC evenly thoughtout the piece of wood. This was all after I made the frame and stuff though.
