PVC Rail Drilling.

Ok, so when i am building a PVC rail, do i just drill through the wood below the PVC pipe up into the actual pipe?

00 = double barrel PVC
 
ok first drill holes in the wood then put the pvc on top of the wood as you would be sliding it. then take a sharpie and go through the hole and mark a circle/dot on the pvc. drill the hole in the pvc, then put your bolts on the inside of the pvc throught the wood. kinda hard to explain ill up load pics later
 
no but nuts and bolts on the ends will keep it in longer/stronger, and screws inbetween the bolts works

when I made mine I drilled holes in the wood first do the screw would go right in. Then I drilled through the woo and PVC pipe.

My later improvents were put dowels (sized a little smaller than the pipe) in the pipe. Then when you drill up there wont be chance of breakage and a face full of screw points.

 
if you can go up through the bottom like you were saying thats best. that way you have no holes on the top and it doesnt reduce the strength of the pipe, but if you cant going through the top is fine. just make sure that you sink the screws all the through the top of the pipe.
 
I've read it can be drilled from the pvc into the wood but I feel like im gonna catch an edge....has anyone done it?
