PVC Question

Ok so I live in AK as my name says, and in the winter at some times it can get -50 F, and will PVC snap/break in that weather (I obviously won't be sliding it at that temperature)? Sorry if its a nub question but no cult searchbar.
 
if it gets that cold it might, i never hit mine if its below zero, but iv used HDPE for rails, and that works good, and you can use that no matter how cold it gets
 
wait are u in fairbanks? and i wouldnt even venture outside at that temp.. and just wait till it warms back up to like 10 or 20 and then just have it supported well
 
yah i live in fairbanks, but unfortunately if this winter is anything like last winter then we won't be seeing those warm temperatures for most of winter
 
if its like 10 or 15 below zero you can chip the pvc. I sessioned a box last year and it was around 15 below with the windchill (so it was probably around 0) at the coldest point and i chipped a couple pieces on the ends of the pvc.

if you dont slide it when its real cold then you wont have a problem if i had to guess. plus pvc is so cheap even if you do its not a big deal just get another 3 or 4 bucks and go buy another pipe
 
when making rails use one larger pipe rather than two smaller pipes and that will make it more durable

but yeah pvc can crack when its cold but ive hit my rails during the winter and havent had any problems
