i have a box rail with pvc on it i made this summer. ive heard that when its cold out the pvc can crack/chip/break when you land on it. i kind of doubt it but just want to make sure so i dont fuck up the rails or myself

I have about 10 rails with pvc and none of them have cracked. As long as you don't have the thin pvc you should be fine.

Yea last winter I rocked a 2" round 10' steel rail in my backyard and it worked so nice.

PVC is prime in the summer, but if you can rock metal in the winter that's awesome. PVC still works good in winter though too.

i have pvc rails and they chip a little bit, no cracks if you have good supports. when i say the chip, its the end that gets worn down, not like huge chunks falling off. you will be fine

THE ONLY REASON PVC WILL CRACK IS FROM IMPACT. PERIOD. I have gone threw four pieces of PVC mainly from 270s on so much that it cracked the pvc and catching tips on the end of the rail making large holes in the pvc where I drilled threw to put in the screws. you shouldn't have any problems! PVC RULES!

From my experience, only small diameter pvc has cracked/broken before. If your piping is one inch diameter or larger it should be just fine. Also, thickness helps prevent cracks

my pvc cracked the other day and it wasnt even cold... i think im just gonna make a box with like 4 or so small pipes

if it really cold out and u land on it hard the ends will break no the middle but i skied mine all winter even with it part way broken
