Ok, so my comp got some malware on it. Shit happens, coulda came from anywhere. I foolishly gave the comp to a local tech who is going to scrub it. He said a reformat wouldn't take care of it. I had some stuff on there, downloads that I dont know the legality of, CS2 hacked, etc. Am I in any danger?

unless he's a total loser and dick, then your fine.

even though he won't admit it, half the software he uses for his business would be pirated.

Haha this was one of those sad panic attacks you get every once in a while. This stuff was deleted a long time (years) ago, and my hard drive is full. If he finds it he's looking. Also he's scrubbing it, which is a long process, its not like hes gonna sit there and watch to see every deleted file he's writing over...

epic fail

dont worry man i gave my laptop to apple to fix with like $5k of bootleg software on it and nothing came of it. i just deleted the icons from my dock and left the programs installed. and by the way unless the malware is super bad he shouldnt really need to reformat your drive. and also you dont see like a running file list of stuff that is getting deleted/overwritten, it just overwrites them.
