Purging my Facebook friends

So today is day that I finally am getting rid of all these fuckers who cover my newsfeed... It was a very liberating expiriance. Now i find that my newsfeed is much less cluttered and I can actually read it without getting pissed at all the stupid "LMS Guis!!1!" stuff. Sorry for the rant, just felt like sharing. Has anyone else done this?

Sparknotes: Deleted over 75% of my friends list, enjoy facebook a lot more now.
 
You can just click "unsubscribe from all posts by this user." You don't need to actually delete them completely.
 
I noticed we are no longer friends... That's fine, you don't get to experience my insightful posts.
 
Its nice if you don't want the person bitching at you because you deleted them. I have at least 25 people on my unsubscribe list.
 
I've tried but it always takes so damn long. It's like 4 clicks for each person and then the page reloads each time and it then I have to scroll back down to where I was. And it's not in alphabetical order and the order changes every time. I usually end up giving up after a few because I don't want to invest hours in it.
 
Mm i dont care enough about my account to go to people profile and unfriend them. But if someone is constantly annoying me with statuses, theres a dropdown meanu and you can click unsubscribe so u wont see their shit anymore. Its a bit quicker/less of a hassle
 
My friends just keep an eye on whose birthday it is. Friends' names pop up on their birthdays and if you don't like 'em/know 'em/talk to 'em/need 'em, defriend 'em. Birthdays are judgement days.

 
i tried to just go in to my friends list and delete people i didnt know very well but that took shitloads of time so now i just defriend anyone who slightly annoys me on my newsfeed. And i also defriend anyone who likes one of those "like this if you brush your teeth" or some dumb shit.
 
I deleted something like 150 people after high school haha. I just felt like people I don't talk to or won't ever talk to again don't need to see all my info or clog up my newsfeed. Only a couple people said anything and one kid actually begged me to add him again, lol pathetic. I don't know how they even notice anyways, it's not like it tells them you delete them.

One of my friends deleted someone and the kid knew she did withing 15 minutes of her deleting him. How big a fucking creeper do you have to be to notice that fast?

They should stop posting annoying shit. I had a friend of mine who apparently 2 weeks ago became a male model in Miami. He started posting his modeling pics in a speedo and shit. It got annoying real fast. Unfriended. If I ran into him and he mentioned it I would just let him know I got tired of looking at his fucking pictures and if he didnt post them wed still be friends.
 
And now I just delete someone if they send me a game request or invite to one of those 16+ clubs. The shit just pisses me off when I get those over and over.
 
upon graduating from high school, i deleted all the people that i no longer care about in my life.

also i wish there was a way no have the articles show up in my feed. it is facebook not a news source.

what's the friend limit for girls, I feel it should be slightly higher than the 354 that is the guys limit.
 
i finally did this. i really don't care that you can like a picture that describes a trait that people share. yea i love god and i like it when people text back quickly but i don't need to like pics about it. i used to have around 400 now i have 225. winning
 
i have 600 "friends" but i unsubscribed from everyone except my real friends, and all the funny pages i like.
 
I havn´t really come to the point where I delete everyone that´s annoying, but where I live there are a shit to n of Nazis and those types of people. It seems like there are more and more of em. To me that´s an instant friend delete
 
oh wow. 353 friends, too perfect. Some of my friends have like 1150 friends. Like come on, there is no way you can even know half those people, let alone be interested to what they have to say.

nahhh, but honestly i think it's weird to have so many fb friends but for different reasons. it just confirms that you need an audience to notice you be happy and seek perpetual attention from as many people as possible. it's like your own close friends or your own experiences arent enough for you so you document your every move and display it to every last acquaintance you can find from any social media platform to validate your life's events and boost your self-esteem.

shit is fucked up these days. call me an old cynical a-hole, but it's makes for a strange, artificial illusion of a social life. why everyone cares so much about their appearance or how many random people they can reach out to is beyond my comprehension. "heyyy look at meeeee, i exist. check me out im cute, im awesome, im cool, i have an opinion, i have a busy life, i do things, i travel, i take pictures of this and that, and i need everyone to see it." seriously, who the fuck cares?
 
honestly, if you can go through your facebook friends list and dont even know who a good chunk of them are, you're probably the same attention whore im referring to. it isn't really about a number, it's more about the mentality of knowing that you need random nobodies in your life to notice you and feed you attention to be happy.

sadly, this is most girls out there, as confirmed by their number of facebook friends, the slutty pictures they post, the social media platforms they use, the amount of guys they lead on, etc.
 
i completely agree with both of your posts. i get a ton of friend requests from people i don't even know, they just added me because we have mutual friends. no. i don't care what you put on Facebook, i don't know you. like why would the even add me? I've never met them
 
That's ironic. Maybe not all of you enjoy looking at photos of girls on facebook but from the 'sluts and their profile pics' thread, it seems to please a large majority of guys. Yeah I understand there are some girls who spam the fuck out of facebook and what not, but alot of people use it as a means of communication with people who don't live in the same town. I know all of my friends, and I've moved alot so it happens that I have a large number. I also have a lot of people who I have declined as I don't know them. I understand everyone uses facebook for different reasons, but I think it's a little far to say that girls shouldn't have facebook. However the world would be a better place if it didn't exist at all, harder to get ahold of people yes, but it also opens up way too many options.

Either way, I barely go on facebook anymore and yes when I was younger I probably spammed and annoyed a lot of people, who didn't?
 
i completely agree, i hate it when i get friends requests from like 14 years kids and the only reason they add me is because we go to the same school.
