Punx or AR7?

Hey guys I've been riding my '09 Atomic Punx for 2 years now and I'm thinking I should switch it up. Should I just get the new '12 Punx or try the AR7s? I've heard great things about both. Just wanted some opinions. Thanks

They are both great skis but they are different. The punx are really flexible while he ar7s are stiff; it all comes down to personal preferences.

Depends on how much you like your punx, i got the 2012 and have heard there much more durible now, better built, and they look sick. but the ar7 are stiffer ski and i think i would be nice to switch it up after 2 years. IMO i love soft skis, so punx def

bump i would switch it up personally but i've looked at the new punx in a shop and the look pretty sick but i'd go for the stiffer ski depending on youe skill level

Your ski selection would have more to do with how you want the ski to feel, rather than skill level. For example, Jossi and Elias both ski a totally stock Punx.

i like softer skis that are more playful, so i went with the punx this year. from what i hear, they are now bombproof, ridiculously light, and have a fast base. cant go wrong with that for only 400 dollars..

you got punx? Shit, there's going to be like 30 pairs of them at Springs this year... haha

And yeah, I love my punx. They are light, durable, buttery, still hold up on jumps (just look at Jossi, Elias, etc.) and are cheap. I don't really know how you can go wrong with them.

hahaha yeah, i just bought them spur of the moment on monday. my friend got a pair too. i didnt know you got punx though, last time i saw you you were on your armadas.

yeah, i cant wait to get on mine though, the flex seems super fun and theyre really light. all i hear are good things about them so im pumped!

I was so close to getting punx this year. Must be a springs thing haha there such a sick ski. I ended up getting t halls instead

personally i love my ar 7s. for a stiffer ski, its ridiculous how light the swing weight is, and you can definitely still butter them. awesome pop too. i've never tried punx so i dont know how they compare though

Well.. I had typed out a whole comparison for you and my internet froze up....

I own 173 punx with the black and gold tops, black red and white bases.. 50 or more days on those. Think thats the same year as yours?

End of last season bought 181 ar7s, more than 100 days on them over the summer in NZ, another 20 days or so in CO.

Punx are much softer.. obvoiusly symmetrical. I center mounted my ar7s because I wanted to use them as my all mountain park ski. I ride the ar7s every day unless it snows more than a few inches, and I love them.. They're both nice skis, it really comes down to what you want. See what you can find a better deal on. Punx are pretty much a dedicated park ski to me, You could ride them every day no problem if you want. Dont expect them to float in pow though. The ar7 is a more versatile ski for me, I've used in up to around 6in of snow and they still skiied pretty well. My punx were fairly durable.. no real complaints. I've put alot more days on the ar7s, smashed rocks, rails, you name it.. they've held up really well. After 150 days or so I think I can find 2 or so minor edge cracks. Bases held up really well, all things considered.

dont think you could go wrong with either. Main difference is the ar7 is stiffer, just slightly wider. I've never skiied the T-halls but same dimensions as the ar7.. just softer as I understand, consider those too. So see what you can get a good deal on...

hope that helps

I ride the red and black punx (2009/2010) and they're sick skis. Exactly the same as the new ones I'm pretty sure just a different graphic.

Really fun skis.

Yeah man, definitely a good choice. I only rode them at the Motown throwdown and at snowflex but so far they seem perfect. I didn't really want to ride Lib-Techs from that PSJ thing so Kent from Atomic decided to help me out this year.
