Go out an buy some compilations to get to know new bands - older Fat Wreck or Epitaph stuff is good. I reccomend Fat Wreck's 'Short Music For Short People' - 101 30-second songs, so you get a taste of a whole bunch of stuff - I got introduced to quite a few bands throught this record.

yah basically what everyone else said: buy a compilation or a split. i recommend the anti-flag/bouncing souls split.

some good labels are: fat wreck, a-f, victory, fueled by ramen, jive, asian man, wind-up, epitaph, etc. just try and stay away from the mainstream shit that is labled 'punk'. i won't even get into how ironic that is.

also, support your local underground!!
