Well I listen to a lot of punk, stuff like Bad Religion, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, to stuff like Green Day, Taking Back Sunday, Rancid, The Ataris, Rufio and other shit like that, but I've come to a point where i'm listening to the same shit over and over again. I was wondering if any of you punk fans could reccomend some good stuff to me, I know there's a lot of it out there, I just need to find it. Thanks

The ataris definatley aren't punk anymore but they used to be kinda, and TBS are punk, man have you ever been to one of their shows? What defines a punk band anyways?

They just have fun no matter what, they don't care about money. Their concerts are nuts, all they care about is people having fun, they let the audience sing half the time. They have soo much energy.

nofx, mxpx, old millencolin, bad religion, propagandhi, frenzal rhomb, pennywise (just thinking of the songs I have).

There should be more of it on ski movies. Some of the rap shit is shit.

 
MxPx only make direct Christian references ina few songs, but you can tell a lot of them are talking about Jesus etc if you think about it. Of course, they can apply to a lot of other stuff if you want them to, which is cool.

And to the guy asking about The Ataris - they rule either way. 'Blue Skies...' is one of my favourite records of all time.

And to people whining about 'punk', stop, it's been done over and over. Pop-punk IS an offshoot of punk, like it or not. An pop-punk is not a dirty word - check out some Vandals or Hi-Standard, No Use For A Name or Pulley for some good pop-punk.

Why did you list Rise Against and 88 Fingers Louie together? Rise Against doesn't have members of 88 in it does it? They aren't too similar in styles, so I'd be surprised if that is the case. Both bands rule either way. I saw Rise Against at a Mad Caddies show - they had a lot of energy.

 
i kinda like the explosion i don't listen to as much punk anymore, but they are a recent band, and the bouncing souls are really good, if you like the celtic music then dropkick murhpys and flogging molly are good. i don't know what else, there are thousands of bands out there, go explore some.

My personal favorite punk band is the murder city devils. A local band around me is called All out they are really good. Its funny when people think emo bands are punk. also quite sad
