Ok, so i finally (its been a long wait) got out to the hill today and i was not going to let this chance pass me to try my frontflip. I was with a friend who didnt ski park so we just skied groomers all day and then hit the baby park at the bottom of the hill before getting on the lift again ( i convinced him to go in and he tried some small boxes and stuff)
anyway, i kept looking at the jumps in the big park and i really wanted to hit them but for the sake of my friend i held back from doing so all day. We went in the lodge and my dad was coming in 15 min and it was bothering me that i didnt even hit a jump all day, let alone try a front. So i said fuck this, told him we were going up to the park and i was going to try a frontflip.
I didnt have a park pass yet so i had to sneak in but that wasnt an issue, i hit the jump to get a speed check and stuff, it was a really akward, the knoll of the jump was above the lip( the lip was reallly steep too) It was basically a step-up but i am still unsure to weather it was intended to be so or that was a result of bad jump shaping. It wasnt the ideal jump id try a front off of ( bigger than i would like(25-30ft), high akward landing, steep lip) but the only other jump was a 40ft kicker, and that wasnt an option.
I straight aired it, it felt alright, i hiked back up to where i needed speed from, stodd there for a min or 2 izing it and pysching my self up to do it. Then i just went for it, landed it first time. Had some cheers from people on the lift aswell as my friend and some others in the park, felt pretty good about it.
