I was looking at them and they dont seem very waterproof. can anyone vouch for this because a down lined pant that got wet easily would weigh a ton and get ruined really easy.

there is no ski pants that are water proof..they are water resistant...asmuch as the 2x4 pants!

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that pocket-rocket is misunderstanding... ALL of the oakley pants are waterproof, except for the puffy pants. even the 2x4's are made from 'waterproof breathable' fabric. this means that the pores in the fabric are too small for water molecules to pass through. the 'water resistance' rating refers to the DWR coating, which is what makes the water bead up, and prevents the product from 'wetting out' which is when the pores get clogged with water molecules, and thus the fabric loses its breathability, feeling clammy. The puffy pants are not made of waterproof-breathable fabric, however they still are coated with the same DWR as the 2x4, so they have the same water-resist rating.

copy and paste...waterproof would meen you can go swim and be dry..they are water resistant

the only time your gonna get real 100% water proof is when you wrap a garbage bag around your legs. nothing is completely waterproof. have you not been sitting in slushy snow before and got up and had a wet as. by the way why do these guys need to get a life. he asked a valid qeustion about pants and he gave him a valid answer back. you need to get a life you 5 post fuck

strait from the oakley site:

2x4 Pant - Fabric: 2 layer waterproof/breathable nylon twill. Imported.

Ballistic Pant - Fabric: 3 layer waterproof/breathable nylon fabric. Imported.

Lab Pant 2.0 - Fabric: 2 layer waterproof/breathable nylon twill. Imported

Puffy Pant - Fabric: 100% Nylon. Import.

Unobtainium Pant 2.0 - Fabric: eVent® Nylon tri-laminate. Imported.

so, as you can see, the term 'waterproof' is thrown around alot.

ok,im not the one misunderstanding, its made with a water proof fabric,but the pants themselve are not waterproof,the unobtainium jacket is made with the same material than the astraunot outfit..can you go on the moon with an unobtainium jacket????think you dont know a lot about clothing design!!

and what ever your going to say, i put my ass in the snow with the 2x4,lab pants,puffy pants,unobtainium pants and my asss was wet,ill do it this week end with the ballistic and ill tell you next week!!

yeah no breathable fabric is completeley waterproof. gortex is the closest you will get to waterproof unless you want to buy a soft-rubber rainsuit that does not breath at all in which case you will end up soaked anyway from sweating so much
