Public Enemies

Saw it at 12 last night, overall a badass movie. There are some boring parts but most of the time there is a lot of action and a lot of gun fights.

Johnny Depp did a good job as John Delinger too.

just saw it. overall dope. dillingers girl dcould have been upgraded a bit though..she was lacking i thought

I walked outthe cinematography sucked, the audio sucked, the writing suckedthe only thing that kept me through the first two hours was that i think johnny depp is a phenomenal actortoo bad one guy can't make an entire movie goodi had really high hopes going into this movie but i was greatly disappointed
the most interesting that happened the whole night was the theaters power went out but other than that i thought even the action scenes lacked

Im going to disagree on a few things. The cinematography I thought was very good. The angles were great, and showed lots of things with depth of field, and using the "triangle" (referring to citizen kane), however they switch them too much. I agree with the sound, parts seemed bad. I thought there would be more "action", however the trailers didnt show that.

im not sure if it was just some problem at the theater but the sound went in and out, especially during the gun fight scenes. I really liked it though.

Saw this at a screening last week. Didn't care for it. Maybe Dillinger was like this way in real life, but felt that Depp's character was far too calm and relaxed. The love story was too forced and underdeveloped (not that I needed it anyway). Christian Bale combines Batman talk with a Chicago dialect, but at least he doesn't have much dialog throughout the movie. The cinematography was considerably shaky at times and the gun shot scenes were excessively bright, something that is attributed to being shot in HD. The ending was VERY anti-climactic and you could see it coming with 30 minutes to go in the film. Not sure what the goal of this film was, but I didn't get a strong depiction of what it was like being a gangster during the Great Depression. Just wasn't a powerful enough for me and I walked out not feeling anything for it.

ya from people ive talked to there have been mixed emotions on the cinematography, some people thought it was fantastic while others not so muchfor me i felt like way too many of the shots were too up close, imo it felt like i was missing things happening around the shot because it was simply angled in way up close during dialogue scenesif that makes sense

if they did change the camera angle every 5 seconds it would be much better. However im a big fan of very tight shots. Like in the movie theater, when Depp was watching the movie, you saw every little expression on his face. I liked that.
