I need some bands worth listening to.

I often listen to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Hendrix, Cream, Miles Davis On The Corner but not the Doors.

New artists, I’ll listen to The Growlers, Mystic Braves, Tame Impala, Temples, Mac DeMarco, Pond, Dungen, King Grizzard, Foxygen, Alabama Shakes, etc.

Also, some 90’s Hip/hop like Tribe called Quest.

My playlist is lacking and I would love to know some new bands.

Kurt Vile, Bardo Pond, Mogwai, The Greenhornes, Father John Misty, Polvo, Amon Duul II, Can, Talking Heads, Explosions in the Sky, Agitation Free, Prince and other things

There's this band called Tame Impala, I don't know if you've heard of them. They're pretty underground and indie.

Similare to Mystic Braves + The Growlers:

Dead Ghosts, Allah Lahs, Tijuana Panthers, together Pangea, Shannon and the clams, Guantanamo Baywatch, La Luz, King Khan & BBQ Show, Ex Hex, King Tuff, The Courtneys

ive been eating up lots of Funkadelic lately, probably some of the best psychedelic rock/funk ive ever heard, for instance Maggot Brain and Eddie Hazels guitar wizardry is face-meltingly good.

just lots of old shit like Eric Burdon and some of his collaborations with WAR, not really psychedelic but definitely worth checking out, even when you're baked as fuck.

also one more group ive been into is Black Merda, all-black funk/rock band from the 60's/70's from Detroit, some real soulful funk if that's what you're into.

Thanks! All these bands are awesome.

If you want something really classic, then The Doors would be a good choice. They have a good amount of classic psych songs, i.e "The end" which has to be one of the most trip songs ever recorded.

WOLFMOTHER. Personally I feel like everyone overlooks them when talking about psychedelic rock or neo-psychedelia; I may just be nostalgic though because they were my first favorite band ever.

But I mean seriously:

If you've somehow never heard of them though their self titled album is amazing, not a single bad song on it IMO.

Mehliana. Totally improvised electronic music by two of the most talented musicians in the world right now, Brad Mehldau and Mark Juliana.

Have you heard their song super stupid? its so friggin raw man. I love it.

Dr. Dog early stuff is very "Beatles psychedelia". Check out the album Easy Beat or We All Belong.

Good thread. So much fantastic weird shit out there.

Shouts to Parliament/Funkadelic as mentioned above. Mothership Connection is that stuff.

got some gold in here. saving this for later.

been digging Flower Travelin' Band. japanese band from the 70's that sounds similiar to sabbath.

that whole album is amazing, its one of those albums you just put on and jam all the way through to.

this may not be the right thread to ask this in..but I think it might be under the same topic so I'm posting it in here rather than creating a new thread about it.

Can any of you guys show me some songs/artists that is mostly just electric guitar..little to no singing, and just raw deep chords? I dont really know how to explain what i'm looking for but maybe you guys will know what i'm saying?

sorry for the absolute shit description

This is one of my favorite albums as of late, Chocolate Matter and Dsco are two of my favorites but the whole album truly deserves a listen through. Definitely enough variety to have a couple songs that appeal to nigh anyone.

Great French psych pop artist who's somehow affiliated with Tame Impala to my knowledge.

MGMT may seem like a lazy recommendation but I think that Congratulation is a surprisingly amazing psych rock album.

Pet Sounds arguably made Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band happen and for that alone I'd contend that it's an essential listen.
