That would be like if I you were bit by a dog as a small child and developed a fear of dogs. The condition (dog bite) results in the emotional response (fear).

what happened to "little hans" or "little albert" (think it was albert) with the white rabbit and the bar ringing behind his head. google it and you'll see.

he was then freaked out by anything resembling white and fluffy.

ie santas beard, rats, etc...
