PS3 vs. Wii

i wont be gettin eather ne time soon but if i was id get the ps3, sony loses a ridiclous amout of money with every console they sell cuz theres soo much tech in it. they make it all back + more with game sales tho
 
the updates are free if you are on xbox live (you get a month free with the console) and take less than a minute to download. and honestly if your not going to be playing online i wouldnt reccommend buying a 360 in the first place. i play my games online multiplayer more than i do single player/story mode.

i think i might pick up a wii just for the price. the games probably wont be as intense graphically but i can bet that they will be flat out fun. ill keep the ol box360 for the HD games and online.
 
however, you still have to pay to get online; which is bullshit both the wii and ps3 will have free online services

plus backwards comatibile and needing an emulator for each game is not the same thing
 
I bought an xbox because its graphics owned those of the PS2.

But then the price difference was almost nil... I will NOT pay so much for better graphics.

The more you think about it the more you realise that you were quite contect with the graphics of super mario/ pokemon/ zelda/ doom/ whatever shit you played ages ago, and had tons of fun with it.

Wii is going to be the same, fun games > graphics.

It's about time the world grew up and realised that graphics aren't the be all and end all

You guys need to take a step back from things and get past all the graphics and HD nonsense. I got the xbox360 the day it came out, and everyday since has been an even bigger let down. I haven't found a single game for the 360 that can keep my interest for more than a week or two. I've probly played halo 2 on it more than 360 games just because they're all so bad. Game developers spend too much time on graphics and not nearly enough on actualy gameplay, which is why Wii is going to go big. Trust me, people will realize after playing it that it's the gameplay that really counts, not some bsed graphics. There's a realon that the best games of all time are the older ones, such as Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Halo 1, ect. Thats because developers didn't focus on the graphics, they just wanted a game that was fun. So screw the ps3, get a Wii.
 
i would also like to note that the 'motion control' of the Wii's games will instantly decide if EVERYBODY buys it or not.

it's so revolutionary, it's either going to kick ass, or be so lame that I wont buy it even though I said I would

yeah you have a valid point there. i guess the online service is still cheap enough that i dont really mind paying for it. as far as im concerned xbox live destroyed the ps2 online capabilities. i hope that ps3 will bring something better and be able to build a strong community of online players.
 
Wii definitely. I have to see if my bro who works at Best Buy can reserve it, or at least he'll know when I should go up there to wait in line.

Everybody is all excited about the wii but you havent even played it. What if the controler sucks and in unresponsive and shit. I would defintally play that shit before I bought it.
 
sorrry dude, i own it. The game's pretty fun but the thing that kills it is the fact that when you get stronger, so do all the monsters. In the end there's no real diference between being level 5 and being level 20 because it's just as easy.
 
Just a heads up for any of you who are saying you are going to get the PS3

I hope you have a hook up to getting it. I work in an elctronics store, and i know that no store in all of north america is getting more then 8 units due to the lack of manufacturing. I sure as hell hope you guys know someone who works in a shop thats carrying it to pick it up for you. Last year we had a line up for the xbox360 that started at 6pm the night before, several people camping out. This year i know we will have the same, but the only problem is that we already have 8 employees coming in early to buy one. That automatically screws over everyother single person tenting out.

Just a heads up. Oh and my manager played both the PS3 and the Wii, and words cannot describe it. If your thinking of picking one up, do it, you wont regret it.
 
first thing he said when he got back was "i played the ps3 sucker!" so i guess the ps3 had a greater effect on him, but he said there both crazy. Crazy ps3 graphics, and crazy Wii controls. He said the wii took a while to get used to, but once you do its such a new concept its incredible.
 
you have to pay because its so much better than the shit playstation and nintendo are coming out with, honestly, have you played ps2 online yet? its absolute shit!

but i'm getting a 360, i heard ps3 is going to suck, cant go by that, but i dont give a shit, halo 1, 2, 3, and halo wars, plus the rumor of yet another halo game to add to the trilagy about a spartans life growing up (training and whatnot) will own. the end.
 
Wii for sure.

Nintendo for life, games are about having fun. It's weird when people are really proud of how 'real' a video game looks.

PS3 is gonna get owned. Practiccally nobody is gonna buy it. Most of the people who aren't getting Wii will have already gotten 360 cause most people don't care about blue rays and shit. I think with this new gameplay nintendo is gonna take over yet again. (again as in when it was just nintendo and sega and stuff). PS3 and 360 are pretty much just more of the same thing with graphics that really aren't that much better. I mean I don't really care if my game looks that realistic. It's a game. I just wanna have fun playing it
 
it's not that people aren't going to buy it, but more of a matter of being able to buy it when it is released. there will only be 400,000 units on release day for the entire US. that's a tiny tiny number. europe is only getting 100,000 units for their release date. if you can get your hands on one, you're a lucky bastard who should probably sell it on ebay.

as for us, we've got a 360 but we're getting a wii for now and then eventually the ps3.

and elder scrolls iv: oblivion was a fucking amazing game. social-life stealing, but amazing nonetheless. also, okami would be a fun one to play with the wii remote.
 
I'm probably gonna get the PS3, after I make some money, cuz my parents sure as hell won't buy it. But the reason why pretty much is because I've stuck with Sony gaming systems for everything, PSP, original playstation, PS2, and the PS3 looks fuckin sick w/ graphics and everything...and I also like the idea of the blue-ray thing...
 
ps3 or xbox360 would be sick to have if you play alot of video games, with buddies and all that shit.. it's certainly an investment at their respective prices, but for myself, i just want the wii system so i can play zelda. something cheaper, just for myself.

online gaming sucks on game consoles anyways. having a stupid little thumbstick is no match for a keyboard/mouse/joystick. it all depends what you're looking for i guess, but for myself, wii, along with zelda and madden07 would be all i need.
 
final fantasy is on PS3...check out ign...game pro...they will all tell you IT IS ON PS3. I could give less of a fuck about GTA....its the same shit on all the games. I get bored playing them. I have them on x-box play them for 30mins, then stick halo in. To enjoy the full graphics potential of every system, you need an Hdtv. THIS IS FOR EVERY SYSTEM.

I don't know about you, but i already have bills, i can't afford another one for x-box live. Fuck that shit. Everybody says that the x-box is going to have all these games. Look at the Wii....FULL NINTENDO HISTORY. Everything from duck hunter, to excite bike, to star fox, to golden eye. Its all there. The PS3 will have the full PS lineup. Im going to buy the PS3 just because its got all i want. The games, the graphics, online play......its all there.
 
the wii controller looks like its for some kind of retard gaming system. either that or it looks like a dildo. the wii sucks just because the the fag controller. ps3 or 360 are sick. much better games.
 
ps3 doesnt seem to have that great of launch titles aside from resistance fall of man...and it costs so much money. Im gonna get a wii, wait a year or so on the ps3 to see if blu ray catches on, and let the good times roll
