yes i realize there is a another thread on this, i just finished reading all the post and figured you guys might want a little inside info on both these products.

my works getting ready to launch both systems in a little over a week.

in just terms of pre-orders, the ps3 is blowing the wii out of the water.

there is over 500 names pre-ordering a ps3 for the 17th.

compared to under 100 for the wii.

sure its half the price of a ps3, but thats cause it comes with half the shit.

a ps3 is also a bluray player, the cheapest bluray that we sell is $1099, a ps3 is $649 for the 60gb model. i cant even tell you how many systems were going to sell just cause it has bluray.

and everyone keeps talking about the wii's controller and how its gonna change the face of gaming forever and bla bla. none of you seem to realize that the wii is targetted for a younger or non-gaming audiance. the reason why nintendo would make a control like this is cause a 10 year old kid would love to actually swing his hands to make a golf swing compared to holding a button as you would on most other systems. 10 year old kids also eat mud cause they think its fun.

in my opinion, the wii controller is designed to take your attention away from the lack of features and game play the wii has.

personally i would much rather play games targetted to a mature audiance such as gran turismo on the ps3, rather then drive around in go-karts shooting turtle shells at people in mario kart.

how old are you? im 18, i love 1st person shooter games and real life stuff. im gonig to get a ps3 because the wii targets a different audence(sp?). GT > Mario Kart
 
all he's saying is that at the store he works at there are more ps3 preorders which would mean there is more interest in them.

nintendo now markets the majority of their games and system toward children. the ps3 will basically have better everything. better games, better graphics, better controller, better gameplay. so i will probably get one of those eventually.
 
ps3 is def. gunna do worse wii is gunna sell just because of what it is its a fully interactive gaming console and its gunna be a hit ps3 doesnt even have final fantasy to itself anymore and fuck you ppl who dont believe me go check for yourself
 
The characters for Wii are younger and cartoonish but the games arnt for 10 year olds. like that new mario game. Please. they cant beat any of that shit. go play with some V-smart crap and learn to add. Nintendo DS is for young kids, spell and learn to train dogs or something. Im not getting any of the systems.
 
Well Im older than you(19) if that makes things any more relevant... Mario Kart is simply one of the most entertaining multiplayer games to come out. Honnestly I find the whole GT franchise to be trash, I never understood why people liked that game at all. I also never understood how their up to like version #17.

But yeah Im not so much arguing on which system you should get, I havent played video games for a while now. Im just stating the facts that Mario Kart has so much more longevity and is overall better that GT(yes I have played both)
 
yea in the past nintendo has targeted children for their sales, but the wii will definatley have some cool games that arent mario. Call of duty 3 is gunna be so awsome for it, with the contoller as a gun and shit.
 
i quit best buy but we sold bluray for 1000.

and they are completely differnet systems for different needs and markets. compare ps3 to x360.

ok ok ok ok, why the hell do you have 500 preorders for the ps3? My manager went to a confrence meeting where the PS3 representative was, and he told all the managers that they underestimated the number of stores that are going to cary the ps3, as well as some other shit, and not one store in North America will recieve anymore then 10 units. So.. dont know what you guys plan on saying to 490 people that show up when you have nothing to give them. - I know toyrus did the same thing, they are going to get screwed too.

thats your opinion, fine, all im going to say is my manager is one of the smartest people i have ever met, and after playing the Wii he said it was such a new concept, its not even comparable. Stop thinking about age, think about what Nintendo thinks about: Money. Im sure if you conducted a survey as to what the adv. age is of a human to own a gaming consol, you would find it would be right in around there will these '10' year olds you speak of. Sure kids younger, and sure a hell of a lot older play gaming systems, but your not on break at your fulltime job everday talking about what pokemon has the sickest move on the new game that just came out. The way Nintendo see's it is that parents will buy the wii for thier kids for christmas, and if you want to get into financial stuff about it, well, im pretty sure Nintendo has it all figured out. Thats where there comming from, Most parents dont buy there kids 700 dollar gaming consoles when they could buy them a 250 dollar one that has just as many new and unique features (go ahead and debate that if you want).

imo, the wii controler is such a new concept it is the new feature. Thats like saying that the blue ray compatability in the Ps3 is designed to take your attention away from the other lack of features it has.

Exactly. i touched on this above so i wont again. Thats because your 20 years old or how ever you are, so the PS3 is targeted more towards you. Just as it is me.

I realise i have put up a fight for the wii more then the PS3, because seward chose to cover the ps3 sololy. Thats fine, im just trying to back up wii. IMO im not going to buy either strictly because of the lack of funds, but if i was going to pick one up as of right now i have no idea which one i would get, there are so many debatable topics, it would take me weeks of research (this goes out to all of you too, if you going to pick one up, research it online, talk to a guy who knows his shit at a electronics store (manager), dont go buy what kids at school or what ever are saying about it, most likly they dont know half the shit there talking about) and i would still not know what to get. So, go ahead and take this how ever you want, im just stating my opinion.

I don't know if you've played many gamecube games but most of them are really FUN. I play video games because they are FUN. I'm not saying the ps3 won't be fun but I think swinging my arms around with the controller will be more fun than the ps3. With that being said I don't know much about the motion sensing of the sixaxis controller and how sweet that is.
 
comparing these two the way you did was, frankly, unfair. sure the ps3 has a bigger hard drive, better graphics, and is blu ray. but who gives a shit. unless you have 660 dollars lying around, the ps3 is fucking expensive. the ps3 is taking an old concept and upgrading it; Nintendo is creating a completely new concept and take on gaming, at under half the price. when i play video games, sure, good graphics are cool, but not 400 dollars cooler. i think the wii is significantly better than the ps3, but i also think it would be better to compare the ps3 to the 360, they are more similar. i would also take the 360 before the ps3, but thats just my opinion.
 
I said it in the other post about this, and I'll say it again. Graphics don't make the game. The really good games are the ones that don't distract you with unecesary eye canday, but instead keep you playing with good gameplay and content, which is why the Wii is gonna do alot better than the ps3. Nintnedo has been known to make FUN games, and i'm pretty sure we all pla video games for fun, not graphics.

and sw_steeze, MY manager is one of the smartest people I know, so if there are 500 people on a list, im sure he will figure something out, even make the systems if he has too, hes THAT smart!

 
My brother is buying the Wii, man I'm a bit of a Zelda nerd, seeing how I grew up with teh game, its goign to be fucking sick, 70hours of game play. And when the PS3 drops in price I'll buy it.
 
How about this, when release day comes, we shall see who wins. Personaly....i think PS3 is just going to win because you get what you pay for. You don't fuck with success....they have had WAY more sales in the past few years then nintendo, and x-box combined. OHH and whats with the grand turismo hate? No offence....but that game has is the highest selling racing game EVER. It is the most realistic, beautiful driving simulator in the world. No offence, but it makes mario cart look like a dog turd in a dump. When i can afford a PS3, im going to buy one because their products are tougher, better games, ALL the PS/PS2/PSP games, blu-ray, and how their on-line shit is run.

I owned an x-box, and after the first year, it was broken. i had to get a new one. The games were pretty good on it, but nothing compared to the PS2 games. The best thing about the x-box was Halo ( which i love, and would be the only reason i buy an x-box 360). The Wii is a awsome concept, but the games just suck. Anyways thats my two pennies on it.
 
blu-ray will go the way of the betamax. The fact they use blu-ray will be the downfall of ps3. Too expensive. Sony doesn't have a good track record with creating new formats. Anywho, even though I have owned all sony systems henceforth, this is the end of the line for me. There is no way I can justify spending 600$ for features I don't care about. I'm gonna miss titles like Gran Turismo, and GTA though. Super Smash Brothers is nothing short of amazing when your playing it with friends.
 
my xbox is dated 11-14-02 so itll be 4 yrs old in 6 days and it still runs like a dream and all my friends that have xboxs have had them since they got them and never had to replace them and seriously when a game came out on ps2 like GTA games and shit i had faith theyde come out on the xbox and they did and STFU bc grand turismo is not the most realistic Forza Motorsports is and im telling you the only grand turismo game i liked was 2 after that it was just retarded this is just opinion shit

everybody has thier own opinion and my opionion is youre gay that the reason playstation got more sale then Xbox is the fact that it came out earlier and bc the xbox was a completely new console the ps2 had the psx b4 it and that was a hit so ppl thought ps2 would be just as good and i admit ps2 was ok but the graphics sucked balls and i just wasnt satisfyed with the PS2 only games the xbox def. kicked the shit out of the ps2 in all aspects and truthfully the 360 will kick the shit out of the ps3 and the Wii is just gunna kick ass bc of what it is, fully interactive gameplay ide be more excited for that then sitting there with a controller playing games i can just get on the 360 including FFXI yes FFXI is on the 360 just so you ppl know and so what about Bluray it sucks BALLS my friend knows all about this shit months b4 u even hear about it and ive know about bluray for a while now and i know for a fact that it sucks and is way to expenisve even the movie industry is using HD-DVDs over bluray

Seriously only fucking nerds who live their life for this kind of thing care about that. If I'm playing a game I want to have fun not be impressed by how realistic it looks.
 
Racing games, wow who gives a shit about racing games. I played Grand Turismo and i and many other people hate it simply because its really complicated, racing games like mario kart and need for speed are a lot more fun because they are easier, and there is more action, hence fun. And if anything Sony is NOT good at quality control, do you know how many ps2s have broken over time? All the first generation ps2s are now getting disc read errors, and warranties expired so it leaves people out in the dust. I had to fix one of my friends ps2 by myself by opening the internals and fixing it all up.

What better games are there for ps3? Theres MGS and GT thats all it has right now, all the playstation exclusives are all going to the 360 (GTA, Assasin Creed, Oblivion). Their "online shit" isnt exactly that good, its actually horrible, developers have to create their own interfaces and servers which makes it a pain in the ass so they usually just dont do it. For the 360 you have microsoft setting it all up for you and the companies, a good single interface, chat, and servers.
 
you love mario kart and you know it. i love GTA and such just as much as any other teenage guy, but we all love simple fun games like that. the wii controller is going to be so cool too. call of duty 3? actually pointing and shooting at krauts? man i'm setting up a sandbag bunker in my basement already. i'm going to get so into it.
 
yeah, cause you know that final Fantasy, and Resident Evil are shitty games that nobody will want to buy. BTW GTA is gonna go to all the systems. They have ever been an exclusive provider. Like i said...just give it a few years, after halo is done the x-box will go the way of the dreamcast. Seriously. Go to your walmart,eb, or any gaming store. Look at the wall of games for the x-box, look at the wall of games of the PS2. That pretty much wins the war. There is gonna be a huge battle between the Wii, and the PS3. Simple as that.

No offence, but fuck the X-box live. I already have enough bills, i don't need anymore. I like free online gaming. Cause....you know..ITS FREE. Seriously....we shall just wait and watch the numbers. Year, after year sony has always come out on top, and i would highly doubt that this next gen war will be an exception.
