Ps3 or Xbox.

My xbox just broke, I've got the money to buy a new system and not sure if I should just get another xbox or buy a ps3. help?

In depth comparison below, but I'd say if most your friends have 360's, then get that because then you can all share games, accessories, etc. But buy a new one. My friend bought a used one from gamestop and had to get 9 different ones because they kept breaking, and the last one he got just broke

I'm really proud of NS for not blowing this into another PS3 vs. Xbox mess

-So my brother and i shared an xbox before he went to college and it was great. I really love xbox for its feel, the dashboard thing was great and we have a lot of friends who had xboxes and we played with them a lot. Also there are alot of updates and add ons that come out first for xbox. And there are probably things that im forgetting. Oh headset are a huge plus

-But at the same time there are cons. Of coarse paying for online suck, also paying for batteries is a hassle. I feel like xboxes have more problems then PS3 do. And finally since there are more people on xbox there are more people that mod and fuck up games.

-Since my brother left I bought a PS3 and it's great. The thing is basically a computer. For new years i actually set my dad up with the live phish show on my PS3 so that he could watch it on tv. So the PS3 is a fast motherfucker. Also in my opinion better games (killzone) come out for PS3. Of coarse free online is an automatic plus and the fact that you just charge the controllers is great.

-But i have very few friends with a PS3. (That being said i still play online a bunch just not in parties or anything.) Add ons and updates are delayed. No complimentary headsets, but hey if your not playing with your friends who cares haha.

Im sure im forgetting abunch, im also not a tech savvy person so i have no clue about that stuff lol.
 
PS3 all the way. I'm not sue why you'd get an xbox, can somebody clue me in on that? I've always lived with somebody with a 360 but if I were to buy a console I'd definitely go with a ps3. Plus I've played xbox my whole life, I wanna try some of the sick PS3 exclusives.
 
i prefer the 360 just because i'm accustomed to it, other than it being your 4th what do you think of the system?
 
i would go with whatever your friends have. although i believe ps3 is a better system in terms of not breaking as much and that it has better exclusives, i have the most fun playing with friends and being in parties with them. also another plus with the ps3 is the free online but 60 bucks a year isnt to bad. ever since i got my xbox during the holiday season some 3 years ago ive gotten a xbox live card 1 yr evvery holiday season since..but overall just go with what your friends have
 
I've had a 360 since it came out and now that I'm in college, my roommate has a ps3. So I've had a couple years experience with both platforms.

XBOX

pros:

- Much better online experience.

- Better games (imo)

- Better dashboard

Cons:

- RROD (which you probably won't have to worry about if you buy new since they made the console slimmer with better airflow so it won't overheat)

- batteries for controllers are a bitch

PS3

Pros:

- FREE online

- Better controllers (once you get used to it: its a lot more sensitive than a xbox controller.)

- Bluray player

- no batteries needed for controllers!

Cons:

- Online isn't as good as the 360

- Not the best game selection (imo)

overall it really depends on what you want to do with the system

Multiplayer with friends: XBOX

Otherwise: PS3

but make sure you buy NEW!
