Ps3 or xbox 360

ps3, but i like watching movies and stuff. so blu-ray is a plus for me.

also the fact that you can switch out the hard drives for a bigger one on the ps3 with any hard drive from an company that will fit. samsung, western digital, seagate. but with xbox 360 you have to buy a special hard drive from microsoft that probably costs an arm and a leg.

xbox 360 break a lot.
 
It depends. Here's my opinion

PS3:
Pros: Blu-ray, free online, amazing upcoming exclusives, very reliable system.
Cons: Waiting for games to come out, no where near as much online extras as Xbox LIVE, nobody has a headset.

360:
Pros: Amazing online service, populated online service, good current games.
Cons: Hardware failure rate, paying for online, (my opinion) not as good future games.

actually you can use any type of external hard drive for the 360 and watch movies off of it... and online for ps3 is fucking terrible
 
i prefer 360 but this is a pointless argument, it's like mac vs pc, more people use 360 but ps3 owners love the console but it all comes down to use and personal preference

i just figured this out today, it's pretty sweet.

And i agree with you about online, xbox is way better for online. More people, better service, and its not that expensive. Plus, if a lot of you're friends have an xbox it's worth it to play with them. I only play games online and I have like 20 friends with an xbox and play with all of them. Only 1 of my friends have a ps3 and they don't have anyone to play with online.

The new xbox's don't break that often, none of my friends have had a broken one yet. Its all the old ones that overheated, and that problem is fixed now. Plus they're pretty cheap now too
 
kids across the hall from me at school have both. ive always been all about playstation but id have to say go with 360. much tighter
 
i prefer the 360, it may not have blu ray, but the xbox has so many more titles and just awesome games that are not on ps3. gears of war for one. plus with a new dashboard dropping that is pretty much biting the wii, but whatever just looks like microsoft is trying to make it better.

if your really really really into movies. PS3

if you want to play video games online and have a blast. 360.

xbox live rapes, as someone said above, all new xbox's have been fixed. the red rings of death was an overheat issue where the motherboard i believe would swell and form a bow, this would in turn pull a chip away because it got so hot the solder melted. i'm pretty sure they put a fifth bolt in the mother board so it does not flext like that anymore...but dont quote me on that thats just what my friends at gamestop said.
 
i have a 360 but i wish i got a ps3 theres so many sick games coming out for ps3 even though online is brutal
 
I have both and I probably prefer my xbox 360.

Xbox live is better than the ps3 online system, you have to pay but it's worth it, it is alot smoother than the ps3 servers and there are more people playing. At the moment the xbox game library is also better.

Only problem with the xbox is that I find it runs really loud cause of the fan. The ps3 is probably better made and it's good that it has built in wifi and blu-ray.

If you're going to play online alot I would go with the xbox.

false.... the 80 gb ps3 is backwards compatible for i think like 80% of games.. its the smaller harddrive versions that have much more limited, if any backward compatibility
 
I have both and over the past few months i have started to like my ps3 more then my 360. great games, way better as a media hub, good store, alot of people will be getting a mic with the new socom game, and you dont have to worry about it breaking.

Free Online Play-I also realized you hardly ever have to deal with 10 year olds screaming into the mic as i did with my 360 so in general a smaller but maybe more mature online scene. Granted there are less people. I have never had a problem playing any games due to not enough people on.

Watching more then four of my friends get RROD(and weeks of downtime) over the time period i have had my PS3.

Light simple controllers that never need batterys

SATA Hard Drive connection-easy to use generic external hard drive if needed. 360 I believe you have to buy an overpriced one from MS.

I love some 360 from time to time but it doesnt seem worth it when you can spend a little more and get all the extra features of the ps3.

 
new xbox 360's don't break, I had mine replaced with a new one and have been using it like crazy and it runs perfect.

xbox live is so sick, all my friends and I have a clan in cod4, only game I have, and it's been so fun for like 7 months now
 
ps3 onlone isnt that bad, its better than paying 70 a year, its completly free.

dont get a 360 they have a 70 percent failure rate
 
XBOX, duh, no i just like it because i bought me orig xbox back in '02, and just loved Halo, so i decided last year to spend me money on 360 even though my parents hide it on me from time to time becuse its prevents me from gettin me HW done.
 
get Xbox 360.. way better online and better games... yeah they break kinda alot but they will replace it for free... go with XBOX 360. i got one and love it
 
That's the 60 GB version. The 160 GB is a new version coming out some time in the coming months, and it will be the same as a 40 GB model, just with a bigger HDD.
 
ps3 is more well made/designed but im a fan of the xboxs price and halo 3 of course. either way you'll win
 
ps3 is lame

xbox 360 is the obvious choice. had mine for 3 or 4 years and its never broken. its dope as hell and has the sickest games and even sicker live
 
oh yeah! well I had my ps3 for 5 years.... yeah thats right, i took my time travelling delorean to 2007 from back in 2002, bought a ps3, and it hasnt broken yet...
 
the biggest thing i've noticed about xbox's failing is over heating them...you can't have them sit on carpet they must be on hard surfaces...my first 360 overheated and died and i got it replaced by microsoft, i have had my current one for almost 2 years now and no problems what so ever.

and if in the case your box does fail microsoft has really good support (at least in my experiences)
 
The 80gb is backwards conpatible, and the xbox works out more expensive after you've paid for xbox a few times.

I've played both a fair bit, and the ps3 is by far the better console. Theres so much stuff coming out on it soon, i can't wait
